No, she's not. what she is is a kid that is trying to tell you something important and you are not getting the message, She told you that she is afraid of her father , that in and of itself is too important a message for you to ignore.
Then she told you that she keeps him locked up in cage inside her brain,What does a cage ultimately do ? It prevents things from getting OUT and harming others. So, keeping him in a cage punishes him and makes her feel safe. WHY?
Make sure that your daughter gets professional help on this matter.Get off the computer and make the necessary calls.
good luck

You didn't say how old she was, but sounds to me like she's having issues with her dad!! I'd first and foremost find out WHY she is scared of him...she should feel she can go to either of her parents for love and support and caring! And as a rule, little girls are 'daddy's little girls' so this sounds a bit troubling to me.....delve deeper and get to the real reason she wants her dad in a cage!! Good luck!!

Kids have very good defense mechanisms. You NEED to find out why your daughter is afraid of her father. Is he abusive? Something is going on. Do not discourage her at this point in time, it may be the only thing that is keeping her sane.

i dont think your daughter is crazy. If she is, i dont think she could lock her father alone in that dark and cold cage up there in her mind without dragging others like her mom,sis and brother along the same dark alley. Now that she has locked her father in there, the father can desire to get out of the cage and into her daugther's admiration,by cautiously assisting the daughter to find the key to the locked cage,by displaying reasonably amount of genuine love, understanding and tolerance for her.I think this assignment is solely the responsibility of the father and not anyone else, since he was the one that is locked up in a cage in her daughter's mind.

You know what children tell the truth always through their own eyes. So you better find out "why" she is afraid of him, maybe something very very wrong is going on? And why would you call you own kid crazy??? Talk to your kid and get off the net NOW

no she isn't crazy alots of girls are afraid of their dad. For one thing men are so gruff and they make girls scared of them. I was afraid of my dad when I was a young girl. but I not afraid of my husband. I always been nervous around men when I was growing up. hope this helps.

Have you ever asked her why she is afraid of her father?
Sounds like there are some things you two need to talk about.
