It's not so much the age issue and more that the guy sounds old and lame.
"Like yesterday he wanted me to look at the spot where he had to get a tetanus shot at the Dr. last year and I couldn't see anything but his biceps flexing"
Pleeeeeasssseee. Can't he come up with something better than 'look at where I got my tetanus shot last year'. Geesh. What kind of line is that? Pretty soon it's going to be:
"Look at what the doctor had to do as I turned my head and coughed. Let me show you how he did it."
He's always trying to hug you? This guy doesn't want to date you, he just wants to feel you up. Creepy. He's not a man so much as a Geriatric Jerk.
If you're that attracted to him just bone him and get him over with it. Although keep in mind you may be kicking yourself later once you realize how much of tard he is.
Do you have a father in your life? Make sure you're not attracted to him because you just missed out on having a father figure in your life growing up.

Actually no, you're old enough. But do make sure of a few things first. Is he married? Don't fall for the she treats me badly line, if he's married or almost divorced, run to the nearest exit.
At 46 men start going through what you may call a mid life crisis, women do too. Basically you start to realize you're getting old and life kind of passed you by. Going out with a younger person makes you feel young. This isn't really a horrible thing as long as everyone knows the field you're playing on. After he realizes getting old isn't so bad he may turn back to folks his own age, you'd be left out.
Feel your way through this one, he may be a fine person but I'd go slowly.

Workplaces have a code of conduct and he is probably breaking yours. If you don't have a COC, then it is just plain inappropriate. Because he is your boss, he has power over your job. His physical actions indicate sexual impropriety not true love or admiration of your intellect or personality. His actions are an indication that he might not be honest or upright in his behaviour, so I would stay away from him completely.
If you got married at 30/48 and had a child, he would be almost 70 when you are 50 by the time the child was in university. Big difference at that age!! He's long retired, so who is paying for the education? And who is doing all the work then?? YOU.
That's one of the reasons age difference matters. If you don't get married....you get fired after the affair.

I'm not as concerned of the age as I would be with your job. If you dated and it didn't work out, what would work be like then. If you are serious about this guy, find a new job and make sure you have the security I'm talking about. Also during the next days think about what you want as in family and future. Don't spend time off the path that will make you happy later, just to get the buzz today.

There isn't anything wrong with dating a 46-year-old, but there is something wrong about dating your boss. The power and money involved in a boss-employee relationship means that dating him would be unethical. If you are really interested in dating him, you should wait until one of you no longer works there.
(And, by the way, unwanted hugging in the workplace could be considered sexual harrassment.)

You have to be very careful. What this guy is doing can be considered sexual harassment. You can get into a lot of trouble with other coworkers, too. (showing favoritism).
The touching part (hugging) bothers me (actually it's freaky).
You may want to talk with someone from your Human Resources Dept. about your responsibilities and rights.
He is probably too old for you.
This is a big problem in the making.

Two things are wrong with this. Firstly, it's way too big of an age difference. Picture you getting hot and heavy with your dad. EEWWW! Secondly, he is your boss, in a position of "power" over you. Anything he does toward you being unseemly can be construed as sexual harassment - even the hugging. Tell him to back off and listen to your mom.

Just think about where this could go. In 20 years, you will be an attractive middle aged women. He will be an old fogy with bad hearing, dentures, and bad breath.
Look around for men closer to your own age. Introduce your boss to Mom or one of her friends.

There's nothing wrong about dating an older guy, but think about it, he's your boss. Besides, he sounds creepy to me. Always finding an excuse to show you his muscles next thing you know he'll be showing you his male member. And what about him wanting to hug you every time? If it's someone else in your office doing these things to you would you let him? I find it very strange.
