the best remedy I have ever found is honey and lemon. Honey coats the throat and lemon is full of vitiam c. If you feel that the cough is going from deep in your chest, you might also try Vic salve. Warm it up and put it on your chest, then put a warm cloth over that. That will break up the congestion in your check..

1 teaspoon of honey
1 tablespoon of lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
Stir mixture in a little bit of drinking water and drink immediately.
Take this 2-3 times a day.
Freshly squeezed lemon juice ( 1/2 a lemon )
Mix with a little bit of drinking water and drink immediately.
You can take this as many times as you want.
Suck on 3 peppercorns with a pinch of black cumin seeds (shah jeera) and a pinch of salt.
Burn a clove by stirring on a hot tava or pan. Keep this in the mouth and suck on it.
3-5 drops of clove oil mixed with a clove of crushed garlic and ½ tsp honey helps soothe the throat.
In a cup of boiling water add 1 tsp turmeric powder and 1 tsp carom seeds (ajwain). Boil till half. Add 1 tsp of honey and have 2 times a day.
50 gm of sugar candy (mishri) with 50 gm pepper powder. Mix with pure ghee to make small pellets. Store. Keep in mouth and suck on them, 3-4 times a day

Ingredients.
1 tbsp honey
3/4 cup of tea
2 shots of brandy
1 slice of lemon
Preparation.
brew tea.
add honey and brandy
add lemon slice.
