someone suggested that people seeing things like Mary can sway people from God
i have heard this same thing be said about spirit communication
i find it difficult to believe that any appirition or sighting of anything that brings peace and love
and is of a spiritual nature
can be against God
can anyone explain this please ?
please understand , i am not looking for an explaination of why these things happen ... or a rude remark about seeing a psychologist
but i genuinly find it difficult to understand why so called spiritual people would deny a spiritual happening simply because it doesn't agree with their book

i guess i am just finding it hard to understand how people judge good from evil .. if everything appears to be good
i think it is also sad that so many beautiful things get ignored or even worse .. because it is thought of as evil by people who assume to know what is and is not from God

Some people are fearful. So they cling to a very narrow doctrine and anything outside of this doctrine is considered evil. Even if it happens to them and there is no denying it, they will then say Satan is deceiving them. It's a sad and immature life-view.

An apparition cannot be evil as it is only an imprint on the atmosphere from an emotionally charged situation which has previously taken place, therefore cannot be evil in any way. An apparition is not even aware you are there even if you are aware it is there.
Spirit communication cannot sway anybody from God if they believe in God, as a rule Spiritualist are very strong believers in God, and count on God for protection in everyday life as anybody would do by saying a prayer etc if so inclined.
I have never heard of any Spiritualis denying a spiritual happening because it is against their book, however some people such as the clergy or so called honest church goers do regard themselves as spiritual when they are not and have no concespt of what it means to be so. Racism in the country for instance is high and it shouldnt be, afterall most so called Christians celebrate Christmas and Easter etc, but have they stopped to think about who they are celebrating the birth and rebirth of? I doubt it as they would then realise that a man who came from Africa is bound not to be white. Get my drift? Dont mix up people who say they are spiritual with actual spiritualism as it is rarely the same thing. Spiritualist attend a totally diffrent type of church from the norm Christian churches and believe quite diffrent things from say the Catholic or Protestant churches, so its not the Spiritual Spiritualists deny anything, its the church goers and churches who deny what they dont want to believe. As a matter of interest, if they read the Bible they would see for themselves that spiritualism, and contacting spirit is not evil and is encouraged, it was Royalty (King James VI) i think, dont quote me, my history not great, who said that contacting spirit was evil. Im in no way saying all Christians or churgoes are not spiritual and i know many are good kind people but i am speaking about the ones who are closed minded to anything other than their own beliefs, i did not mean to insult anybody in anyway by saying any of what i did. I appologise to anybody who has taken my answer the wrong way as i respect all religion.

Apparitions are evil because they come from fallen angels, to continue the lie that we don't die (Genesis 3:4). The truth is that when we die that is it, we die and no more (Ecclesiastes 9:5,10). Our hope is in the future resurrection that hasn't happened yet (2 Timothy 2:18), onto a paradise earth (Psalms 37:29, Matthew 5:5) which was God's original purpose (Genesis 1:28, Isaiah 55:11).
It's worth looking at the scripture 2 Corinthians 11:14,15 to see why you have to be careful of things that on the surface look 'good'.
As for the Bible, if you've proved to yourself that it is the Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16), then you know that everthing in it is true (Titus 1:2)

No, apparitions are not evil. People like to judge others but they say it is God judging and they have no basis for this.
Nowhere in the New Testament will you find that just seeing a ghost or apparition is sinful or evil. Did you know the disciples thought Jesus was a ghost when they saw him walking on water? But people claim the bible says ghosts do not exist.
Even in the book of Acts when Peter escaped from prison and went to the house where the disciples were they did not open the door at first thinking it was Peter's ghost.

I'm a Christian and have seen ghosts, or spirits, or whatever, myself. (I have never witnessed things like Jesus appearing on a rock or the image of Mary on my pizza, so I can't talk on these things, though I do not deny people believe in these things. -Not to make fun, these are things I've heard of.) But I believe some people are more likely to see these things, and I believe spirits are around us all the time.
I don't know why anyone would say apparations are against God. He Himself was seen after He was ressurected! Bizarre miracles and visions are throughout the Bible. Sometimes I wonder if I would go crazy if I were to witness some of those things!
I have talked to the ghosts I have seen, when they keep coming around and give me the creeps. I do not think I am doing anything against God when I communicate with these spirits. Spirit communication as far as using a medium is spoken against in the Bible, there are 3 graphic references against seeking out mediums in the book of Leviticus.
The big concern as far as worrying about pleasing God, and from my own experience (before becoming a Christian), I know that evil can be channeled through spirit communication. That's best left alone for sure.
I do not know how spirits fit into what I was taught about Heaven and Hell, but I have faith I will know the answers to all of life's mysteries when I can ask God in person in Heaven!
Personally, I think God wants us to rely on Him as the main source for all things spiritual. That is why turning to other sources is against God.
Good luck in your search for Truth. Look to God, He has the answers.

No not all apparitions evil, only thoses you conjure up.I am a christain, I follow Jesus, I worship God, but I am not deaf, dumb or blind. My bible tells me to seek wisdom,I am not chatholic, I do not pray to Mary, beacuse the bible does not say to,however i am open minded enough to know man put the Bible together, and they omitted many things.I have had a few apparitions in my own bedroom over the years.I live in mass. When they said Mary appeared in Milton Ma.I went to see was very convicing.Mary has been appearing all over the world for a very long time. She does not come to take you away from God.I am 54 years old nothing
has ever come to me to take me away from God nor to do me any harm.If you have had a divine experiance it was Divine !

I've seen things not of a religious nature but just strange and as confirmation later i found out my sister had seen similar things.
So, I believe it can be. I agree also that if it's spiritual in nature and does not cause turmoil in your belief that it could be of God, but the Bible says that Satan has sought many inventions to lead man astray, it also says that Satan has the power to fool even the elect of God. I would be cautious where these matters are of concern.
This from your own words "if everything appears to be good"
appears is the key word. For instance your at a restaurant and see a big juicy steak ( for u vegans a nice crisp salad) it may not be as good as it appears and you may get food poisoning or something worse i.e. e coli.

Actually it does agree with their book--it is never definitively stated that the resurrection wasn't a very strong apparition, and people were visited by angels often--they just fear the unknown

Some people feel that these apparitions are from the devil disguised as somone good in order to deceive people. But you have to make up your own mind about that.
