I am referring to news reports not about Muslim terrorists but about the far more mundane group of religious Muslims who happen to be taxi drivers. In Britain and Australia, Muslim taxi drivers refuse to pick up passengers who have a dog with them — even when the passenger is blind and the dog is a Seeing Eye dog. Nearly all religious Muslims believe that Islam forbids them to come into contact with dogs. Therefore, Muslim taxi drivers will even drive by a blind person standing in the cold, lest they come into contact with the dog.
And in Minneapolis, Minn., Muslim taxi drivers, who make up a significant percentage of taxi drivers in that city, refuse to pick up passengers who have a bottle of wine or other alcoholic beverage with them. This is significant. We are not talking here about Muslim fanatics or Muslim terrorists, but about decent every day Muslims. the imposing of one's religious practices on others.

Well, that is true when u said about the dog. I live in Indonesia and it is a predominantly Muslim country. Most Muslims there don't have a dog because of their belief.They believe that dogs are "dirty" animals.

You tell me which taxi driver is happy to pick up drunks
with bottles of alcohol in there hand..would you put some one in your cab who is drunk and has a potential weapon in there hands NO YOU BLOODY WELL WOULDN'T..
you wouldn't risk them vomiting in your cab or on you..
Not that you don't deserve it...or smash you over the head
with a bottle...
As for the dog in my car is a no no..a taxi driver is earning a living by exporting people around ..not dogs
can you honestly say you take a chance allowing it to
crap or pisss in your cab..what about flees ..and smell..
or just had a crap and not clean would you allow it to sit in your cab and make shitt every where ..and what about when they are wet from rain can you stand the smell ??
(maybe you can I don't know ) how can you trust a drunk to pay there fear at the end of there journey..
and what about other customers using the cab .would they like the vomit and the smells shitt stains spieled Alcohol ..

my pets & i were rejected many times by muslim taxi- drivers.
most gave me reasons that:
1) dogs shed...
2) no dogs, please
3) dogs stink...
4) i'm worried your dogs will pee/ poo in my car
well, to be fair, i've met 2 muslim taxi- drivers who not only allowed me to bring my pets into their cars, but also pat them... avoiding their licks & noses (it's considered unhygienic in islam).
i have my share of unhappy encounters with a very limited muslims (mostly older generation), but 98% are polite & ok with my pets. many thinks that my dogs are cute & would like to pat them, but due to their religion, they can only observe them @ a distance.
as for alcoholic contents, i never had a problem with that...

I'd much rather come in contact with a dog than a Muslim. Dogs are loyal trustworthy companions. I never heard of a dog strapping a suicide belt on himself.

My girlfriend is Muslim, and she was initially uncomfortable with my dog. However, now she's grown quite fond of him.

It is illegal to drive with a container of alcohol in the car.
I disagree with their decision to not drive with guide dogs, though. Since they feel that dogs are unclean, they should carry a mat with them for the animal to sit on. Some people should probably sit on the dog mat too.
They aren't imposing their religious practices on anyone. You aren't allowed to smoke on the bus are you? It isn't good business, but if they own the cars, they can allow or disallow any customers they choose.
