My b/f has four kids and I was going to contribute 50% to their gifts. (I don't have any kids and was wondering what the typical middle class people spend.)

10=$150.00
13=$200.00
15=$300.00
18=$250.00

That is what I'd do. I don't know! If they are all your kids, just be fair and do it even. See how much your budget is for gifts and divide the money there.

It depends on your income, what relation they are, and how many others do you have to buy for. For nieces and nephews I spend about $15-$20. For my distant relatives kids (i.e. long distance cousins), I just give a cheap gift (like a pair of earrings), some candy and a $5 bill. For my own kids the limit is $300 each.

We are average middle income Americans.

"might want to" is any such heavy be conscious. relies upon commonly on how a lot they *can* spend and how a lot message they prefer to positioned across to their children about consumerism and the mass-promotion and marketing of Christmas. i might want to imagine the common center-type American kinfolk might want to flow for roughly $one hundred-2 hundred, provide or take. That way they could be able to get the baby a respectable present without putting too a lot emphasis on the dollar-fee of love. If it truly is smart. (and that i'm declaring this with my 14-year-old stepdaughter accurate next to me.) Her enter: "they could get the single enormous element a baby needs, and not in any respect truly some little junk they don't truly care about." (imagine iPod or digicam.) similar idea for birthdays. If a kinfolk can arise with the money for extra, they could opt to furnish a more advantageous merchandise like a computer or gaming gadget, or possibly a chunk of impressive rings if it is a baby it is into that type of element.
