Uh, what is up with Miss Ann's comment? Crazy idiot!
Anyways, buy some smoked sausage. Cut up the sausage and fry on low. Peel and cut up some potatoes, salt and pepper, add to hot oil and fry. You could also make something else on the side if you want. Macaroni and cheese or a vegetable like green beans.

My kids love pasta, with a red sauce. Takes 10 minutes max, and your 1 year old will love it too.
Maybe some garlic bread with it. Get one of those part baked bagettes, cut it into slices. Mix up some crushed garlic in some butter, and spread on the bread. Put in the oven for 8 minutes.

soup!!!
boil some butternut squash - potatoes - turnip - parsnip - onion - leeks - and any other nice seasonal veg - in veg stock
when they are boiled after about 40-50 mins - use the hand whisk for about 20 sec so that there is still lumps but the sauce is thick.
add cream for a thicker soup and serve it with oven warmed crusty bread and butter!
luuuuurrrrvely!!!

Why not give some of them spagetti letters on toast a whirl. They're fun, not especially unhealthy and 5 mins on the hob should do it.

find a great lasagna recipe. not only is lasagna delicious and a meal that can stand on its own, it gets better in taste the more times you have it for leftovers, relieving you of cooking duties for 2-3 days.
