I've had the same problem with my hair. I find that only by giving it loads of tlc, did it get in better condition.

I would give these tips.

Have it cut regularly as you are doing. Perhaps take a daily vitamin supplement. My hair was falling out and after 2 weeks- this stopped when i took a vit tablet and my hair got shinier.

Buy a new hairbrush perhaps- i was pulling mine out with the torture instrument i was brushing it with.

Change your hairdye- i find some are very conditioning, others give me hair like shredded wheat.

Comb your hair through whilst the conditioner is on. Coconut conditioner is a good one and very cheap. Then rinse. (I remember reading a beauty article once, about how most beauty products were good- it was just we didn't use them properly- or left them sitting in bottles on shelves- expecting them to work miracles). Well that's what i do! When i half heartedly plonk the conditioner on my head, rinse, then dry my hair on full blast heat!
What do i expect?

Towel dry gently.

Only use the low setting on your hair dryer- do not put the heat too close to your head.

Get someone else to blow dry your hair once a week if poss. So they can take more time over it.

I wash my hair daily- but l've been told that's not good for it.

Keep happy and not stressed if possible- your emotional welfare effects your skin and hair.

Depends on a few factors...

First of all, once a month seems a bit excessive to color. I'm assuming your hair isn't all that dark (because you said you don't use bleach) so dying it every month might not be neccesary. Also, when you color are you doing your whole head all over again or just your roots? It seems a bit obvious but some people not only touch up their roots but re-dye their entire head, which will strip your hair and make it dry and damaged.

Also, are you going to a colorist or doing the coloring at home? If you're doing it at home you might want to consider getting a colorist--they will probably know what conditioners to use to counteract the damaging effect of coloring plus they'll know how to hide your roots better so you don't have to dye every month. If you don't have enough money or time to go to a colorist then you might consider switching brands of hair dye to one that has more emollients to soften your hair.

One more complication I can think of is how long you leave the dye on for. Its pretty rare that someone can go blonde without using bleach and, surprisingly, using bleach for the right amount of time is less damaging than using a dye but leaving it on longer that recommended.

If all else fails, I'd try St. Ives Hair Repair at least once a week--it's the best restorative hair conditioner I've ever used.

Good luck!

Its because the blonde you use still has harsh chemicals in it. Maybe not bleach but something else. You need to give your hair a break and use good shampoo and conditioner. Your hair is not going to get better until it grows out. You can't heal whats already damaged. Its dead. You can only heal whats growing out of the roots. Sorry but try going natural and then coloring again. You should color every 2 months at least.

Use conditioner every time you wash your hair and when possible let it dry naturally instead of using your hairdryer. I switched to Garnier Nutrisse hair dye and find that it is a lot gentler on my hair than most brands. Once a week or more, when you're just hanging out at home do a hot oil treatment, wrap hair in saran and a towel to keep the heat in. Any and especially all of these things will help.

Instead of coloring all of your hair just do the roots each month and then every few months dye all of it to help refresh the all over color. Make sure you use a brand that comes with conditioner and use it every week. A good conditioning at the beauty shop would help as well.

take it from some one that colors her hair as well....your killing your hair....you are damaging the roots and the stem cells growth under the hair shaft. It doesnt matter how much you cut your hair...the hair grows from within so all that you have damaged on the inside stem growth is what is growing out. I have heard that warming up olive oil and putting that on your hair works or a deep deep conditioner and then placing a warm towel over your head for 20 min...but honey.....your killing your hair every month...it will never grow back normal anymore unless you stop the insane coloring. bleach or no bleach it doesnt matter its the chemical in the peroxide that is doing it.

That will be 250.00 dollars please

You should buy some quality hair stuff if not already using. Try MOP hair products on QVC website, they do some really good conditioners, the Vit C range is lovely.. My hair has been highlighted for many years but is never dry and I reckon that is down to the good hair stuff I use.

Stop using hair color so often. You have really damage your hair with all thoses chemicals. You need extra moisture added to your hair. A Shampoo and Conditoner with extra moisturizing agents in it. Need to remove the damage ends. I already know you applied the chemicals on overprocessed hair. I only do touch ups on my hair color every 3 months. I don't mind the roots my hair is healthly and has a lot of moisture.

Do not apply colour all over .Roots only for 15 min after ends for another 15 min.Use treatments and keep them on under a plastic bag for 30 min.

well generally if you continue dying it the chemicals normally get into your scalp which cause an imbalance in your hair so if you continue to do this yourself i assumer then it will not get any better i suggest if you wish to keep dying it do it professionally the same effects will occur but it will take alot longer so overall there is no turning back since you have been doing it for so long sorry to say
