this is very possible, and you should take your cat to your regular vet, has the cat lost weight, is it lame, is there any vomiting, does the cat eat mice, has the cat been loosing hair, does it have a fever? These are things that an in-person exam can help to determine what is wrong with your cat, blood work will likely give you even more answers, this may be as simple as an abcess or as complicated as heart failure, but without having the cat looked at by a vet, you are only going to get 'guesses' on the internet. Diagnosis is very important so that you can do the very best thing for your cat.

Take him to the vet. He may be quite ill.
Have you perhaps lost another cat or pet recently that your cat was very friendly with? If so, he could just be pining for his friend. In that case, just be really supportive and loving until he feels a bit more perky.

Cats can get depressed, but not very often. Has he lost a playmate or has something changed around the house? Maybe he is feeling neglegted. Take him to the vet because he could be sick.

my cat is exactly the same, he would rather use the litter tray inside than go out,i have to pull him off the settee to feed him,we thought next doors dog had scared him but when he went off his food we took him 2 the vets and he has got either a gum infection or a bad tooth,so get him checked out, he could be in pain.

How old is he? He may be in pain or just getting old, or he may have an infection. Take him to the vet if he stops eating for more than 2 days or drinking water for more than 24hrs.

please take your cat to the vet. When cats are sick the first sign is that they don't eat and become listless, loose interest in everything. Cats will not show any pain even if it hurts alot. Its a survival thing that if you show any weakness you become lunch.

it would properly be some thing, which includes poison. you need to work out a vet ASAP. And BTW, once you DECLAW a cat, you won't be able to!!!!!! enable them outdoors anymore!!!!! you've bumped off their skill to wrestle back and/or spoil out up a tree. that's an exceedingly convinced both OR. both the cat keeps that's claws OR it remains interior in any respect cases!!!

My cat has had to have 3 of her back teeth out this made her as you have explained above. She doesnt have sweets only tinned stuff and munchies? I was puzzled when the vet said it was her teeth. Shes 100% now. :)

have you been away and left your cat for a longer period of time than usual cos my parents' dog tends to get really moody and depresed when they come back from a holiday. If not it may be ill and perhaps you should consult your vet.
