Has anyone read any of the ebonics bible, and if so were you offended?

Jim, i simply call it as I see it..and I agree with the first answer. It was somewhat funny but tragic at the same time. Of course the tragedy stuck after I picked myself up off the floor and quit laughing at the Thou shalt not ill section (10 commandments)

I am serious...it can be google searched. I was floored. My 17 year old found it along with a cite that was supposed to prove that Jesus was a member of the cryps.

"Don't be dissing on the lord."

While I am not a big fan of ebonics, the Bible translations that we have today are no different. The NIV is my favorite, but that is because it is in a language that I can most easily read.

All of the translations are wrong from the very beginning. The Torah is the first written version of stories told for centuries. The New Testament writings were translated into Greek and Joshua's name was changed to Jesus.

Again, I am not a fan of ebonics, but if that is the best way to send the Word of God to the poor than so be it.

Take care,
Troy

Some say ebonics was built on the old SPOKEN language of Africans. Black people that speak ebonics can not only usually speak more proper English if warranted like at a job interview, but can also read English. Actually, that person may even find it harder to read ebonics than to read proper English.

Is this a joke? You have to be kidding, you can't give accurate directions to the mall in Ebonics, and who could do translating from Hebrew and Greek that even knows Ebonics. I don't even think there is a dictionary of Ebonics, unless it's on bathroom walls.

Never even knew that they had an ebonics bible. But, it doesn't sound like anything that I would read.
