my uncle was dying and was never a believer to my knowledge. He asked my aunt to take him to church before he dies. She told him no there was no reason for that and it was nonsense. Unable to go himself he never went before passing. Was she wrong or was she right?

Even if she felt like it was nonsense, she should have respected his wishes and taken him. What would have been the hurt in fulfilling a dying man's request? She sounds like she should have maybe thought a little more about his feelings and been more tolerant.

Yes, she was wrong . But don't worry, God knows our human heart more than we do. If your uncle truly wanted to see the church for repentance of his sins, then his sins were forgiven even if he unable to go. The fact that he wanted to repent is the key, and not because he wanted to go to the church.

It is the change of heart that your uncle had.

In my opinion, she was as wrong as two left shoes Because I am a believer in God, I find it especially harsh. However I agree that all he really needed was to praise God with all the sincerity in his heart, ask for forgiveness of his sins, and believe, because He is always with us anyway. We have the promise of his presence and comfort at the time of our death

I experienced that same thing when my aunt was dying, and her daughter would not let me introduce her to Jesus on her death bed. My cousin will have to stand before God and answer to Him for blocking what He sent me to do. They were catholics and never accepted Jesus as their savior, Just a couple of years ago, my cousin died of cancer, and she too died lost.

Your aunt was wrong and will have to answer to God for that. But your Uncle did not have to be in Chruch to be saved by accepting Jesus as his savior. He could have done it from his death bed and never told anyone. But that remains between him and God now. I pray he did accept Jesus before he left this world.

People have a choice in this world. They can either be the opened lighted path for those who are reaching and seeking the face of Jesus for their salvation. Or they can become those huge concrete road blocks that keep them from it. and have to stand before God and answer to Him for that.
God bless you.

There may be much more to the story than what you are aware of. Now that it is over, let's deal with things that we have control over. God will decide what is right and wrong, he judges the intents of the heart...

She should have took him to church if that was where he wanted to go. He could've gotten saved on that day, it sounds like he had something on his mind. Pray for your aunt.

It was his last wish, she should have, or maybe somebody could have brought a pastor, preist, or whatever to him. If he was in a hospital you could have ask the clergy to visit him, and somebody could have brought a preacher to his house, She was wrong, but someone could have done something about it.

I don't see how she could have denied him his last wish. It's all about making him feel good at that point. That the point was moot was not the issue. We all make mistakes. I definitely think that decision was a mistake.

she should have allowed him this last request ,,,,
but she is right that it was not neccesary, for the spiritual does not dwell only in a church so i am sure he was not alone .
but i can not imagine why she would not allow him this if that is what he truly wanted .
pretty mean spirited .
