My cousin was in the Air Force and they taught him Russian. I would think any branch would be willing to teach you any language as long as they were sure that you would be using that language to help them in some way.

I can't speak for the other branches but I know that in the Army you have to take a test. The test is called the DLAB and it tests your ability to learn another language. If you score high enough on this test they will offer you the chance to learn the language they want you to learn and right now it would probably be arabic. Then you would go to a year long school out in Monterey CA.

The Navy has Cryptologic Technician Interpretive (CTI), you go the the Defense Language School in Monterrey CA. Obviously they are I need of Arabic language speakers, but they also have positions for all languages. CT's are a lot different than regular fleet Navy guys, I was a CT in the mid 1990's.

If you join the French Foreign Legion you have to learn French. But most of the Military Signals Co rs train linguists. If you already have another language this is often a benefit in selection.

The army has a job where you can learn Arabic, it is a long course I think a year in Cali. Sounds like a cool job but your bound to be deployed a lot.

I know that there are Linguists in the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force. I do not know if the Coast Guard has them.
