British or Qantas even Virgin Atlantic. My friends who have done Australia-England return say Virgin.
Go British if you want to be soken to by a Brit
Go Qantas if you want to be spoken to by an Aussie
Go Virgin for a bit of Both!
Go with an Arab airline like Emrites or Asian like Singapore or JAL and be talked to in another language (Although JAL is good)
When I say spoken to, I mean by the Flight Attendents. You will find that Virgin will fly cheeper. Go to your travel agent. ENJOY THE BEST COUNTRY THERE IS!

Just take the national airline of Australia, which is Qantas. You may have a stopver in Singapore or Hong Kong because of the distance. I have done that.

Takes a long time if you go by plane, and even longer if you go by boat. Going by car would be difficult cause there is lots of water in between!
If going by plane you can stopover in Singapore, Hong Kong or Bangkok.
Alternatively buy a "round the world" ticket and visit a number of continents on the way there or on the way back!

Qantas, they are convenient and you don't change planes.
But if you like to travel in class,
Singapore Airlines and Emirates.
About travel times or prices, I have no idea.
