Did the vet do a urinalysis to check for crystals in the urine? (Costs about $35). My vet did that for my cat because my cat had the same problem, peeing on carpet and couch. Since she was 4 yrs old and litter trained, we took her to see if it is a behavioural or medical problem. We just got her in August. Turns out my cat has crystals, so she is on a special diet now.

She hasn't gone outside her box in 3 weeks. Here's what we did:
1. Changed her diet.
2. Bought an extra litterbox, so she can choose which one she wants to use in case she thinks one isn't clean enough for her or something. (She has a hooded and non-hooded box now.)
3. Use clumping litter so you can scoop pee and poo, keeping box very clean. Cleaning everytime she uses it or multiple times a day. (Morning, after work, and after she uses it when we are home.) With clumping litter you don't have to completely empty th box as often.
4. Put her in her litterbox in the morning, after work, before bed, and she will use it for us. This taught her to go there and helps from waking us up in the middle of the night from her meowing after using litterbox.
5. Clean the messes up really good using Nature's Miracle, Febreeze antibacterial, Shout, dish soap, sprayed cat repellant, and put tin foil over it, I sprinkled cinnamon on the spots too cause I heard cats don't like that. After I vacuumed it up I had nice stains on my carpet, so I had to scrub it again with Shout and dish soap.

I would suggest getting the Urinegone Kit (it comes with a black light which really helps you locate all of the places she has urinated). I would put a litter box (small) in every room in your house. Make sure you clean it every time she uses it. I know it's a pain, but it will help the problem you are having. Make sure you scrub every spot with the urine gone, and maybe even sprinkle a little baking soda on each of the spots after they are dry. Some cats are very picky about their litter box, so this should help--especially if the vet said she doesn't have a problem. Good luck!

I had a similar problem and it was all because we got a covered litterbox and the cat didnt like to use it because he didnt like being enclosed. As soon as we took off the top he didnt urinate anywhere that he wasn't suppose too.

I know this sounds weird but make sure your cat isn't upset about something like another cat or if it's not getting enough attention. I have 3 cats and they get weird sometimes over stuff like that.

it could be behavioral. if the cat is mad at you for maybe getting a new pet or not being home enough to show proper attention they will retaliate by peeing on your stuff.

also make sure the litter box is REALLY clean.

is she spayed? if not, try that
also, make sure the litter box is clean...some cats won't go in it if it stinks
