i heard that u can get cancer from heating stuff up in the microwave and its plastic. Like Ramen if u heat them up in the microwave and then eat them can u get cancer. I heard this from a life guard.

Yes. Any microwaved food can contribute to cancer.

Maybe, but it's not easily proven. Some plastics leech dioxins into the food when exposed to heat. Dioxins cause birth defects and cancers. Is the exposure enough to cause the same problem in a person as in Petri dish? That's hard to say. Remember that you also have an immune system that is designed to identify cancerous cells and kill them. That means that negative effects of exposure might go unnoticed because your body repaired the damage. The instructions on the wrapper are placed there by the people who make the product. They have no legal requirement to test the plastic wrap for safety. Do your own research and make your own decisions...you'll probably be decades ahead of the food industry because they will fight tooth and nail to not end up in a position of liability.

well, yes and no. it is possible because when you microwave food thats inside plastic, some of the chemicals in the plastic can get baked into the food. the reason i say no, though is because it would take a LOT of that to give you cancer. we're talking 10 cups of ramen noodles a day for 30 years before it would even become an issue.

Acording to a report from John Hopkins heating food in microwave in plastic containers releases Dioxins which are harmful to cells in your body and can lead to cancer.

NO! I think not. What you may get is a melted bowl, as many plastics are not microwave safe.
