Eggs are a very good source of protein and are a good item to include in your diet. Eaten in moderation should not pose a problem. Usually, no more than 2-3 times per week. The egg white contains the protein while the yolk contains cholesterol. I love eggs but must watch the cholesterol so, what I do is when making a 3-egg omelet, for instance, I include the yolk of only 1 egg and add the egg whites of 3 other eggs. In that way, you do not miss out on the flavor of eating whole eggs and you satisfy your minds eye with seeing the customary color of the eggs. Any time you eliminate the yolk of an egg when doing a recipe you should replace it with the white of another egg to make up for it. I have been doing this for quite some time now and my cholesteral is great and my weight loss continues. I also eat small portions of food 4-5 times a day instead of the usual larger meals 3 times a day. You will find that by doing this you will not store as much fat and you will not be as hungry in between feedings. Hope this information helps you and good luck with your weight loss.

OK, i lost 26lbs from Jan 5 to mar 15 and i ate what i wanted,i just counted calories trying to stay in the 1200 calorie range, eating 3 times a day and having snacks, i tried the no carb diet and it is not the best way to go, but if you insist, deli slice turkey rolled up w/ thin slice cheese, tuna rolled up in a lettuce leaf, deviled eggs, honey roasted peanuts, i also had a mix of dark chocolate chips, almonds, dried lo-carb fruits, beef or turkey jerky is always good, so when that fails try calorie counting; everything these days has the calories on it and even some restaurants provide this like Dairy Queen, don't count fat or cholesterol just calories, i am still losing by the way.

Being on 'Dieting' doesn't mean that you cant eat eggs!!.......First of all you have to know that what is 'Dieting'. Dieting simply doesn't meant taking less calorie and energy, it means taking appropriate amount of calorie and energy determined by you height and BMI.
So if you are on diet, it doesn't mean that you have to stop taking energy, protein and fat entirely.
Now lets see what the composition of an egg?? Egg contains primarily 'protein' , then some fat and energy. So I believe if you are calculating your calorie intake and you know that how much cals and protein you require everyday, then you can take eggs.
Second thing that I would like to emphasis is that, the 'Yolk' of an egg contains a lotz of cholesterol. So you should avoid that part of egg. You can take boiled egg, without its yolk.

Egg Whites are good - protein
Hard-Boiled Eggs can be done up ahead of time if you're in a hurry and good for you
Egg Beaters egg substitute is also good
try to avoid a lot of yolk - that's where all the cholesterol is - so no sunny side up or fried eggs

Eggs are a excellent source portein. However, the yolk is high in fat and cholestral. So you should try to eat egg whites, which have virtually no fat or cholestral. A person should not eat more than 3 egg yolks a week. So if you want to eat eggs for breakfast, only eat the eggs whites

eggs can be very good depending on who you buy them from and how you prepare them. free-range eggs where the chickens are eating whole-grains or natural feed is the best. egg whites shouldn't be eaten raw because the have enzyme inhibitiors in them that prevent proper digestion, however, egg yolks should be eaten raw or slightly warmed (never above 118 F) because they contain healthy enzymes and other vitamins and nutrients that are easily destroyed by heat. if you eat the yolks raw you also don't need to worry about cholesterol either or the fat content because yolks contain lecithen which digests fast, but is destroyed by heat.

Hard boiled - 1 dozen a day!
Eat only half the yolks though, that is where the fat content is. Good to have some, but not all.
Make 'em fun, color them with your kids...

Egg whites are great, but yolks are high in cholesterol and fat; ideally, you want to separate them and eat only the whites.
I often hard boil eggs and give the whites to the dogs (for their coat); I use whites to mix into tuna salad.
Your results may vary.
