u need to log into www.irctc.co.in. u will need to register there give your address where the tickets need to be delivered. its really very simple & within 48hrs u will get the delivery of your tickets.

2) Register urself
3) U need an I.D proof document
4) Credit card or Debit card to make payments
5) Its really user friendly.
6) There are two ticket delivering options,a) e ticket & b)i ticket
i.e.,former delivered at ur doorsteps within 48 hrs & latter one you can take a hard copy direct from online.

You asked to how to book a train ticket in India. Go to a raileway Station, stand in queue and book. If you do not have time, then approach some travel agent. He will do the job for you.

log into irctc.co.in.
creat ur id.
keep a id proof (voter id card/pan card etc. handy)
check out availability and book ur ticket.
take a printout of the ticket and you can show the printout alongwith the id proof you mentioned to the TC.
payments options are through debit card/credit card/internet banking.
its really very easy and fun too.

Just go to the nearest reservation counter and get a reservation form. fill in the details and train number .check for availability and pay the cash. and you are with your ticket. its simple.you can also

please log on www.irctc.co.in and register your self.than you can buy any time train ticket for travels in india.Another way is go to any centralised railway station,from where you can book ticket for travels in india.Some authorised travel agents are doing the same job.
