The Bible says in the book of Matthew 13 that some leave Christ for a couple of reasons, one is that the persons do not understand the word of the kingdom and so the Devil takes that word out of their hearts; another reason is some quickly receive the word with joy but there is no root in himself so when problems come they immediately leave; and the other reason is some hear the word, but it is choked out of them by the cares of this life and the longing for money so that person does less and less for God. The above one of the parables of a sower.

For me, I left the church because of the inconsistency between what I heard preached and what I saw practiced, especially in the preacher. I was also very disillusioned by the exclusion factor. If you were a Christian, that was great. If not, you were looked down on. Not everyone was like this, of course. There were those who honestly tried to live the Christian ideal, were thoughtful, loving people, and didn't try to make others feel bad about themselves for being a different religion. Unfortunately, these people were in the minority.

I have found in the pagan community much less of this attitude. They (we) are tolerant of others' beliefs and tend to be compassionate people. There are, of course, those professing to be pagans that give us a bad name just as there are people professing to be Christians that give Christians a bad name. And there are misconceptions on both sides as well. All faiths, all people should try their best to be tolerant, open-minded, rational individuals willing to listen to another viewpoint. Agreeing to Disagree is a valid position. Disagree and condemning is not.

I think that some people get frustrated and leave because they want immediate gratification for all of their problems to be taken away. Staying with Christ is a journey that can take a lifetime to fulfill, but in the end it is all so rewarding.

Some leave because they no longer wish to follow the lifestyle of Jesus. To them, it is too restrictive. At Matt. 7:14, Jesus spoke of those who were are on the "narrow road that leads to life." If a person wants to stay on that road, he must stay within the framework of Christian conduct. Those who are on the "wide road that leads to destruction" can do anything they want to do. They can abuse drugs, fornicate, smoke and use profanity to their heart's content. However, eventually they must pay the consequences for their actions.

It has nothing to do with "leaving Christ." Its the churches and many other so called Christians which are thankfully left behind. Its done to preserve ones own truth, life and sanity. If you have to ask, you don't understand. And thats fine with me.

It's what they believe about commitment. People don't want to be committed to anything anymore. When the going gets tough as we will be tested in our faith some people either hunker down and get deeper in their Christian walk or get bitter and draw away from God. The deeper Christian walk should be the goal of every Christian and the trials and challenges of life are there to make you stronger in your faith in God.

The bible says in
1Pe 5:8 Be sober , be vigilant ; because your adversary the devil , as a roaring lion , walketh about , seeking whom he may devour.
Thats why Ephesians 6 is important for us who are saved.

The ones who leave either cannot accept that G-d is a Trinity---G-d is One---- or those who feel there is no G-d. I left because I cannot believe that G-d is a Trinity, and that G-d is One.
