People are so judgemental! You're not an alcoholic, try alternating your drinks with soft drinks. Use the AA when you feel as if booze is taking over or interfering with your life. I'm sure that this is not the case for you. If you drink shorts, then ask for a larger glass with more coke or whatever. It's all about realising that there's really no rush to get drunk, that's when the booze gets in the way of enjoying your night.

you already realize that you drink too much when you go out...therefore you probably realize that you can't control it once you start. That's called "controlled drinking." If you can go out and have just 1, and that's enough, then you might be OK, but if after 1, you feel you have to have more, there may be a problem. I know, been there ,done that...Only you can give yourself that answer.

Try having a soft drink between every alcoholic drink, I find this helps me drink less when I go out and I dont feel so bad the next day.

1. Give your keys to someone else.

2. You realize your 'problem' and you need a friend to help. Take only enough money for 2 drinks... then make them last for the evening. After your alcohol, then get 'soft drinks'. Have your friend promise (and you promise to listen) to limit you. This is a habit.

3. Go out to places that you know and ask them to limit you. Go to the waiter and tell them you HAVE to limit your drinking (you can do this privately) to a couple of drinks for the night. What a boss of mine once did was to tell the waiter to only bring 'virgin' drinks to her after the first 2 - even if she ordered the real thing. for example, she would order a rum&coke and on her 3rd drink, she would get coke only. Worked like a charm.

good luck

I would say alternate between beer (or whatever you drink) and water. That way instead of having (for example) 8 drinks in a night, you will have 4 drinks and 4 waters. This should help.

Develop a love for money. A drink in a bar in New York costs $7 per drink. If you are going to drink ten times you'll spend $70 plus tips every time you go. If burning that much money will not stop you burning your health (liver, Kidneys) wouldn't.

You know why you do it? Because your not satisfied with how you feel sober, particularly how you feel about yourself. And then in the past there was a time when you were absolutely plastered, still kept drinking, and had the time of your life. So you keep trying to imitate that but it turns out to be much harder than you think to duplicate without just ending up ruining your night.

Get a set ammount of cash out and leave your cards at home. If you have two pouches in your purse/bag, put the taxi fare in another pouch away from your beer money. that way you'll have enough to get home.

Steer clear of rounds, unless your mates are cutting back like you. Don't let others buy you drinks, don't borrow cash from your mates either as it adds to beer money.

well, i take it that you mean alcoholic drinks...right? this can really be a serious problem if you won't be able to control this. Alcoholism can be very damaging in so many aspects. but if you really want to control your drinking, engage yourself in more productive activities or hobbies...try sports. Try avoiding your drinking buddies, though this may be a little difficult, but can be done. This can mean lots of self control...self motivation. But if you're up to it, I know you can do it! GOODLUCK!

Bring only enough money to buy 2-4 drinks, and stop there, drink water or seltzer after that.
