Perms are very seldom a good idea. My advice would be to go with the natural texture of your hair and, if you like it curly, to invest in hot rollers--it'll be a lot less damaging on your hair and you can change your style day to day.
Not too sure what you mean by sideward bangs, but give it shot.

Take in to consideration your hair texture and is it highlighted already.
if you have real fine hair, the perm will not look like the big curls that are in, it will be a waist of money because if you get a big curl perm it won't take.
if your hair is thick and in good condition make sure you get one of the biggest rod size to perm with. It will look natural.
they are called swoop bangs, the look good on anyone.
because you can make them short or long

hard to tell coz i don't know what you look like, but if you thinking of a perm, make sure you have enough hair for that or you could be hating it for a long time.
