I hear you. I understand that you are thinking it is not jealousy of the newborn, so lets explore some other options? You say she has always been this way, so I am wondering where she formed in her head that this behavior was the kind that she wanted? Listen, you can always count on a child to come to the wrong conclusion. If early on, you gave her negative attention in response to her negative behavior, generally all some children take away from that experinece is "Oh, I got mom's attention!", not ever analyzing or understanding that it is not positive attention. Generally to off set this once the behavior is set, is to reverse our (the parent's ) reaction. Case in point, if your daughter is give huge praise when your daughter has completed a task that you have given her to do. Snatch her up in one of those warm hugs of yours, look her directly in the eye, and tell her how great she is and make it a BIG DEAL that she did great. Just like she learned to repeat the negative behavior because she got the most attention from doing that, she will learn to repeat POSITIVE behavior to get positive attention from you. In turn, when she does negative behavior, tell her firmly that her actions were not appreciated, and the best way to fix the issue. If she does not comply with you, make sure that the consequence is fitting to the offense, and keep on moving. She will learn that after all that positve praise she has been getting, she does not like recieving that negative response from you anymore, and will jump back on the straight and narrow. It is going to take time to get her used to this, but if you are consistent, you will indeed see a very positive change. You may find that your daughter may be just a bit jealous after all. It is always an adjustment to have a newborn come into the home, so you may want to try expressing the desire for her help, be it in changing the baby, getting the baby' pj's ready after bth time, etc. Children's dispositions change when they feel a part of the special new person that has joined the family.Blessings.....

You could write a polite letter to the manufacturers asking them for one. They usually pay attention and give you free stuff when you write a letter but if you call, you'll be fobbed off.
Alternatively you could get a universal remote control. All-4-1 is a good brand that would work with a Samsung.

You can get universal remotes in loads of places, and they usually all work for combi's too. Try argos.co.uk as they have quite a few and aren't that expensive!

boot fairs are a good place to pick up old style remotes & other odd electric items, and second hand shops also, you could ask in dixons, but the line may have been discontinued so they may not sell one! x
