It's nice to see someone who isn't mocking a different religion from their own. Thank you! Coldstream26, Rebecca, and Lunwinz know their stuff! Christians believes in the Bible and here is what the Bible says about salvation.
1. Heaven is a free gift-it cannot be earned or deserved.
2. Man is a sinner and cannot save himself.
3. God is merciful and doesn't want to punish us, but He is just so He must punish sin.
4. Jesus Christ was God and Man. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and rose from the grave to purchase a place for us in Heaven.
5. Faith in Jesus Christ is the way to Heaven. This means trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life. Rest on Christ alone and what He has done, not what you can do.
So transfer your trust to Christ, accept Him as your Savior, receive Him as Lord, and repent. If you pray these things to Him you will be saved! :-)
Romans 10:10,13 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. For, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
John 6:47 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life.
Luke 15:10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.

There is no absolute proof.
Some Christian sects don't actually believe in an actual Hell.
When you accept the Judeo-Christian religion you are expected to follow the rules, one of which for Christians includes preaching the word to all.
There are perks for accepting some Christian beliefs, such as everlasting life and forgiveness of sins for accepting Jesus as your personal savior.
Receiving the holy spirt with baptized by water.
Ultimately, however, in the Christian religion there is a book of life that is used on "judgement day" and only some will be in that book of life. There is NO WARRANTY that all Chrisitans will be in that book.
It is also said the Jews and the Chosen people, but they too must be pure and hold to their religions to be in God's good graces.
It is theoretically possible (but again, no warranties) that everyone has the potential to have their name in the book of life. There is NOT one Biblical scripture that restricts this to Jews or Christians only.
We can only assume it has to do with living a pure life and not having "the mark of the beast" which will be on your head or arm or hand.
Only the purest and bestest will get into HEaven.
The Judeo-Christian faith system recomends you embrace that system as there are potential benefits, but if one is not openly doing "sinful" things or worshiping or following "false Gods and Prophets" then it's hard to say.
There is no direct qutation to indicate what a false prophet or God is, other than the "beast" aspect.
God put everyone on the Earth and all are God's creations. One would expect God to not foresake them for petty reasons, only for real reasons like you are vile and corrupt.
You have to decide if the shoe fits and take your own chances.
The way of Christianity is about free will to choose your own path in life.
God will judge based upon your deeds and actions in heart, soul and physical manifestations.
I personally don't think God or Jesus is looking for people who do things for Rewards. They are looking for the selfless person who does things because they are the rightious thing to do.

I'd recommend you locate a different breed of "Christian" and see if you get different answers. Many Christians follow Christianity as a path toward God, just a Buddhists and others follow a different path. Many Christians are not exclusivists and do not teach that people following other paths go to Hell, whatever that is. We make our own hell here on earth, or we choose heaven here on earth. This is not simply a matter of doing good deeds" but is finding God at our center and living out the relationship we have with our Creator. For Christians, following Jesus is a primary way of receiving God's grace and mercy, but only a few of us believe we "own" the singular path to the Divine.

I have seen a few answers here that tore at my heart. I wasn't going to answer myself, but a few things were laid on my heart. God is loving and kind, so much so that He didn't just carry and get nailed to a cross which already seems horrific enough, but He also died then rose again. He spent another remaining 40 days here then promised to go make a kingdom for us and ascended into heaven. While here he was hated and not believed in even so people knew him first hand and witnessed his words and miracles. But there were many that did see the Truth and followed him. There is no other way to heaven but through Jesus Christ, believing in His death for your salvation. It is sad to me to think that nice people can go to hell, but the rewards of heaven aren't gained by good works. And we all know most people want to only believe in a good place and wish everyone there, but the message from God tells us how to choose heaven over hell.
Also I just want to add that you have a careful and senstive way of asking this question and I thank you.

Hell is spirtitual seperation from God. If you don't believe and interact with God, how can you be connected to Him. Good deeds don't make up for sins, only forgiveness through grace washes sins away. Grace is only available through Jesus Christ.
Most Christians believe that there will most likely be people of other faiths in Heaven, but that's for God to decide. These statements that were made to you are based on our doctrine. We have to live by our doctrine, but we also know God to be merciful.
Thank you for being incredibly civil in your question. It's refreshing and mature.

God and Jesus Christ are love and kindness. There is an afterlife awaiting those you have accepted God's free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. The Bible says "Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father, except through the Son." There is only one way to Heaven/afterlife - that is through Jesus and Him alone - no other way. Without Jesus - there is a place prepared that is totally separated from God for eternity in a place called Hell. Blessings to you and I pray you find the Truth.

God has found you a worthy cause for heaven, but because of your "minor sins" you cannot stand before God and live so God has created a way for you to be able to stand before him without being wiped out by his holiness. If you want to stand in front of God some day all you have to do is accept the way he reaches out. He does not want to send you away for such minor infractions but there is a problem between our nature and his that only has one solution. So, yes he does see that you and yours deserves happiness and afterlife, that is why he has you in a position to hear the truth about this matter. If you choose to accept his invitation all you have to do is ask on here how to accept it. You can still practice most of your buddhist principles and practices.

Just follow your heart. No one has any right to judge you. They probably have good intentions, but are going about things in the wrong way. God (or whatever made the universe) knows what's in your heart. As far as I know, Buddhists are peace loving & gentle. Surely you can't be condemned for that! Don't let these narrow minded people prevent you from your search for religious knowledge & the meaning of life.

You sound like a really nice person.
I am a born again Christian. The Bible, which is the Word of God, says that NO ONE comes to the Father (God) but through Jesus Christ. It also says that good works will not get you to heaven - you have to acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.

What is your concept of hell? For most Christians it is not the age old idea of fire and grinding pain, but a spiritual pain of being seperated from god or not knowing him. For anyone who believes in God and is tryong to live his life for God that would be a terrible existence.
Logically, if some people don't want to know God in this life, why should He want to know tem in the next.
I believe that in one way or another, everybody gets there opportunity to come to know HIM, but unfortunately some have eyes, but do not want to see, and ears but do not want to hear.
It is up to them to respond or not.
