Do the U.S. customs confiscate pirated CD's...
I wanna bring some CD's containing compilation of my fave mp3s.

Yes, regularly, but generally commercial operations for pirating and resale. You can put things on a CD that you bought on Apple (that's all I've ever put on a CD, to be honest) so I am not sure how you know from the fact that something is on a CD that it is pirated.

I'm in favor of buying it legally to begin with, though. It's only $1 a song.

Only if they come to their attention. It will not necessarily be obvious that they are illegal copies. But if you bring CDs of MP3s in commercial quantities, or in excess of the likely number you might have paid for, then you could find them confiscated and yourself facing "mitigated forfeiture". In other words, a fine.

No. And, when you "purchased" the music to create those mp3s, you purchased a "license" to use and enjoy the music for your personal use... so they could be legitimate under the terms of your "license" anyway. Try not to hide the CDs in body cavities -- that would be a dead give away.

If they have reason for opening your suitcase and they find pirated CDs, they can confiscate them, especially if you're bringing in large quantities.
