a male that attracted to another male

It actually means happy and content and full of life. It's a very positive word which in modern times has been altered to mean homosexual for some reason.

I think it's because years ago, someone who skipped along full of the joys of the day was seen as a gay person, it's become the word for homosexual because there are lots of gay men who prance about in a very camp manner and I think this is what led to the meaning of the word "gay" changing from happy and pleasant to being a chutney ferret.

How unsurprising to read so many homophobic remarks, quite sad really, just when you think society is growing up.
Perfectly o.k. to call homosexuals every name under the sun, "rum, queer, poof, a r s e bandit" but when someone decides to give a positive turn on things, the gay bashers are back in force. Grow up, be tolerate and have a good life.

Gay is an adjective meaning "carefree", "happy", or "bright and showy"; however in modern usage, gay is a word usually used, as either a noun or adjective, to refer to same-sex sexual orientation — homosexuality.

"Gay", when used as an adjective, sometimes describes traits associated with both queer, or homosexual, men and women, culture or lifestyle. The term lesbian, on the other hand, is used exclusively in a gender-specific way to describe women who prefer sexual relations with other women.

Terminology of homosexuality

Gay is used as an adjective to describe sexual orientation (attraction, preference, or inclination) and is usually chosen instead of homosexual as an identity-label.
Gay sex involves acts between or among people of the same sex or gender.
Gay is usually used to describe the "gay community" by both insiders and the mainstream media.
Gay is sometimes used to describe an object of particular flamboyance.
Gay can be used as a nonspecific derogatory comment towards a person or object. As a term of abuse it may be widely used by adolescents.
Other connotations can vary widely based upon speaker and situation

How are you using the word? Gay as in joyful and carefree, or gay as in a person who's sexual preference is towards others of the same sex?
