I have 12 tats. I use Lubriderm unscented on all of them starting 2 days after getting it. My oldest one is 23 years old & looks just as good as the last one I got 3 months ago.
My daughters friend used that tattoo goo & her skin had a bad reaction to it. Now she wished she took my advice like my daughter did. I think it just depends on your own body. So if your sensitive to some things then really be careful what you choose.

I have a friend who is a tattoo artist and he recommends Vitamin E cream. Also I put a sunscreen with SPF 15 on my tats before I go outside to prevent them from fading over time!

Vaseline blocks pores and can ruin the color of the tattoo. Use A&D until it stops peeling/scabbing and then use and non-scented gentle lotion such as Eucerin or Aveno.
Your tattoo artist sucks for not explaining anything to you, never go back.

use triple antibiotic ointment for the first three days.....wash the tattoo with mild soap and water 2-3 times a day and put a small amount of ointment after every time you wash it....after about the 4th or 5th day you can stop washing it...but put non-scented lotion or cream on it a couple times a day until it has healed fully.

A& D Ointment during the first week. After then I use Lubriderm. It doesn't have any fragrances or colors to it so it's very gentle on the new tat. Remember to keep lubing your art up... keep it shiny and new! :)

You should keep it clean, and until it peels, a very light coating of A&D. It should not be glossy at all. After that, an unscented lotion, with no aloe. You want to keep it close to the condition of normal skin, not greasy.

A&D for sure. Use it untill the tattoo starts to scab then after that you should use lotion that has no fragrance. I have about $3000.00 worth of tattoos and this method has not failed me so far..

Vaseline, very lightly covering it it the scabs all peel off. You tat artist should have told you this, all good ones will give you a tat care sheet after you are done.

H2Ocean tattoo foam. It helps seal in your color and helps it to heal faster.I've used a&d ointment, lotion, and H2Ocean. I like the H2Ocean foam the best. You can get it at your tattoo shop.
