Hehehe I have been thinking about this... we do not celebrate Holloween for OBVIOUS REASONS.... so I thought we take off on Holloween or just take down the door bell... LOL. But has anyone been in this situation? Is cool if you do what you do that is up to you, but I am all freaked out about what to do because we just moved in this neighboorhood.... Thanks!

Children just want the candy, they do not understand the religions that refuse to honor the tradition.

Personally, I like the trick or treaters. But I like to see joy in the faces of children. Let them be children, there is plenty of time for them to learn different religions when they grow up.

If you don't want trick or treaters, keep the house dark and don't answer the door.

Peace.

there were times before I moved I solved this problem very simply. since our neighborhood did require the porch light to be on for the ones giving candy left it off which didn't work obviously. the next year I locked the gate to the house and they couldn't get in my property. we sat on the front porch and waved at them as they went by. then there is a place which sell " worry stones " which are stones with images cut in them. we purchased these one year and gave them out as they had the image of the cross carved on them.

Turn off your outside light, put a note on the door. If you can, talk with your neighbors and let them know you don't do Halloween.

It's getting more and more 'normal' to not do Halloween.

I don't think you need to leave your home - have a lovely evening.

Just leave the lights off at your house.

If they come anyway, tell them that you don't have any candy, but try to keep a few pennies in your pocket to give them. They will appreciate your gesture, and will remember you next year and not come. (Unless you hand out quarters, then they and their teenage siblings will come!)

Turn your porch light off. It's the universal sign for "Don't come up". And keep your shades down. Growing up, we always skipped those houses that didn't look inviting.

I am a born again Christian. I would encourage them to come to my door and I would tell them the truth about what Halloween is. And then I would send them off with sweets saying, "Jesus loves you".
