I have used and would recommend a Garmin fish finder.

The Garmin 240 is in the $200 range and the Garmin 90 is in the $100 range. Either one would serve you well. It is very easy (most fish finders are almost automatic).

good fishing!

If you have a Cabelas or Bass Pro shop close go there and check the bargain cave or clearance center! I got mine there and it was just that someone had opened the package so they didn't put back on shelf. I got 160$ finder for 120$ and the cables and stuff had never been opened.

You can use this one in a float tube.
