Quick Dandruff Cure
When the scalp sheds dead skin, it is known as dandruff. It is very common, however, on some people, due to illnesses or other reasons, the scalp may shed substantial dandruff. This could lead to pain on the scalp. This condition, however, can be treated easily by using a proper shampoo. If the condition persists, a visit to the dermatologist is recommended.
A few remedies that you can try at home are:-
Apply coconut oil on your scalp and leave it for an hour. After an hour, apply lemon juice and massage your scalp. Leave it on for another hour, and then shampoo your hair with a mild shampoo. This will leave your hair shiny and without any dandruff flakes.
Take an egg, beat it and apply on the scalp and leave it for an hour. Shampoo your hair and you will find that the dandruff has disappeared.
If you have mild dandruff, applying coconut oil daily for a few days, will rid you of the condition.-
Wash you hair with beer. The alcohol in the beer is known to clear the dandruff on your scalp.
You can also try massaging your scalp with vinegar (if you can stand the smell) and then wash it with a mild shampoo.
The above-mentioned remedies should help you get rid of dandruff. If the problem persists, it could be due to other factors, so a visit to the dermatologist is highly advised.

Dandruff is a skin disease/bacteria. You either have it or you don't... Most people mistake a dry scalp for dandruff.. if you have a dry scalp and notice a little "dandruff" as most call it (but really just dry flake) then you should use a moisturizing shampoo/conditioner.. Dandruff can only be treated by a perscription/medicine... If you had dandruff you'd know, the flakes are very big... Dry scalp just leaves quite small flakes, and they are actually oily pieces of dead skin... Dandruff has a different texture...

As skin grows, epidermal cells are pushed outward where they eventually die and flake off the head. In most people, these flakes of skin are too small to be visible. However, certain conditions cause cell turnover to be unusually rapid, especially common in the scalp. In people with dandruff, skin cells may die and be replaced about once every two weeks, as opposed to around once a month in people without dandruff. The result is that dead skin cells are shed in large clumps, which appear as small, white or grayish patches on the scalp.
Dandruff is believed to be the result of a combination of factors. Some of these factors are well studied, whereas others have not been thoroughly investigated.
The most common cause of dandruff is the fungus Malassezia furfur (previously known as Pityrosporum ovale). This fungus is found naturally on the skin surface of both healthy people and those with dandruff. The fungus metabolizes human fat, resulting in a lipid byproduct that is antigenic. Hence, the dermatitis in areas where sebum is found, areas with many sebaceous glands (on the scalp, face and upper part of the body). When Malassezia furfur grows too rapidly, the natural renewal of cells is disturbed and dandruff appears with itching. Other fungi may have a similar role in causing dandruff, as may certain bacteria.
Dandruff is not caused by a dry scalp.
Mild dandruff may be caused by overactive sebaceous glands. Other causative factors include family history, food allergies, excessive perspiration, use of alkaline soaps, yeast infections, and stress. Even the season of the year can contribute to the problem: Cold, dry winters are notorious for bringing on dandruff or making it worse. Symptoms of dandruff can also be aggravated by exposure to dust, UV light, harsh shampoos, and hair dyes. In rare cases, dandruff may be caused by over use of hair gel or spray.

We get dandruff if we use other's comb or hair brush. Also, if you failed to rinse your hair properly. But sometimes, it's due to your head's perspiration that catches all the dust around you.
