We are not talking about numbers, but aspects of a deity.

Imagine a large fork with three prongs or tynes. Imagine holding the fork over a pool of water and dipping only the prongs into the water. If you were a fish in the water, you would see three separate objects in the water without seeing that they are all part of one greater object.

I come from a religious tradition that does not believe in the Trinity, but I understand how 1+1+1=3

its very confusing for people who either don't believe, or even more confusing, for those who believe in a true singular God.

for people such as Jews, (remember, "messianics" are christians... not jewish) and generally Muslims... its simple:

1=1.

if theres any number other than 1 in the equation, its not monotheism, but polytheism.

its funny when people come up with these huge long rambling posts about it and all... when its so simple. 1=1 is simple. (infinity)=1 is less simple, but the same thing. no equation which includes something other than 1, or infinity in the equation, is monotheistic.

Mathematically speaking, yes, the idea of the Trinity is a falacy, but it's dogma, created by humans, whereas math isn't. Dogma is just accepted because of the idea it represents, whether so logical or not.

THE DEITY ( TRINITY ) consists of GOD THE FATHER, JESUS CHRIST THE SON OF GOD, and THE HOLY GHOST - HOLY SPIRIT. THEY were explained to me this way. your dad is separate from your mom and you. your mom is separate from your dad and you. you are separate from your dad and mom. yet all three of you are connected to each other as a part of one family.
