Yes. All animals have feelings.

Case in point: A good family friend once had a cat whose kittens had died: the momma cat went around the house throwing herself into the walls, crying, almost screaming, for her loss.

Another case: A different friend had to get rid of a long-time family pet (german shepard) who got jealous of the new baby in the family and tried more than once to pull the infant out of her crib.

Another time: As a young girl, my aunt was very sick, and once of the family cats refused to leave her side, not even to eat. The cat would sit next to her and pat my aunt's hand with her paw.

So, yes, animals do have feelings and emotions, just like humans do.

God Bless the Animals. Gotta love them.

oh dear god! cant believe noones gotten angry yet! dogs have feelings-animals have the same feelings-but not about the same things, theyre even more emotional-havent you sen a dog cry? look animals are ALIVE but with way less of an outlet than you or i...if you have dogS, have you ever noticed how they know when the other one is getting fed or even just attention? w/o making even the slightest sound, you simply start petting one-the other wakes up from his nap upstairs and demands affection as well!and uum, for that guy above me...you do realize that every emotion is created by a chemical response, right......well theyve been studying animals for quite some time now GASP! same f*^%$@! reactions! dogs arent stupid- what, do you expect to try harder at communicating or something? they realise they cant- they get happy, sad, angry, protective, thoughtful,playful,serious,etc....man i hope youve just never been around animals- how could you not know this!?

Absolutely. :-)

I'm an only child and grew up with a multitude of pet dogs to take the place of siblings. They express sadness, enthusiasm, excitebility, happiness, contentment, hurt feelings, fear, affection, loyalty!

Now, I say all the time that the best way to know/size up a dog is to look into it's eyes- just like you would size up a human by looking into their eyes. You can feel their intentions, expressions, and their general personality!

I've had my dog for ten years and I have observed many behaviors in her that would indicate she has feelings just like I do.
However, like a small child, dogs mimic what they are raised with. I've noticed that my dog reacts to certain things in much the same way I react to them.

probably, dogs have feelings like humans. they have sense of smell greater than humans, sense of hearing, sense seeing, sense touch and all senses like humans, however their way of thinking is not like the way how humans think about something and can not do what humans can do

Not really the same as humans, but yes dogs do have emotions. They can be very expressive of their emotions too.

Yes they very much do. My Dad & Mom owned a pekingese named Butchie & dad was very close to him & when dad passed away "butchie" drug his tail on the ground for days going back & forth looking for dad. He would look up at all of us & sigh deeply & loudly & would not eat & had tears in his eyes. When I came back from the funeral home after they received Dad's body Mom told me I could have the clothes Dad passed away in. When Butchie smelled them he could smell Dad's scent & he perked up & started barking cause he thought Dad was back & like he was asking us where Dad was. We had to pick him up & put him on the bed with Dad's clothes & let him sniff them & see that Dad was not back. It was so sad it made me & my sister cry. That little dog never acted the same after Dad passed. He grieved so hard. So yes they do have feelings like us. Thank you for asking this cause it brought back some really peaceful memories.

Nobody actually knows, even if they claim they do.

Until such a point as we can _ask_ a dog, we cannot possibly know. Let's assume they do and treat them nice though, just in case.

It's also worth noting that not all humans have feelings.

Rawlyn.

I believe they do have feelings, but I think they get over it quicker, cause they don't have the memory span we do. Course sometimes when I get on to my baby, she acts mad a me for a good long time. She also cries when we are not home, I have to clean her eyes when we get home.
