hi i have to write a engagment card for my best friend the thing is im crap at thinking of things to write that arn't boring and predictable i.e sayings, versues, quotes.pls help

Why don't you buy her a small book of love peoms (available at WH Smith for about £5 or £6) as a token gift.
Then write something along the lines of:

Here is what you do sit down remember the times you spent with each other the good and the bad the days when you wanted a friend ad he was there the struggles you interface with the times you had your disagreement and you decided that one little quarrel would not make a good friendship disappear the bad break ups and whose shoulder you were there to cry on the jokes he use to tell and make you laugh and now let him know that not because he has another in his life that you will always be his confidant no matter what.

There are lots of poetry sites online that you could have a browse through to find something appropriate for the couple, or maybe just write something from your heart that says how you feel about their good news.
