What a vague question.

It would have helped if you explained your interested.

Many femals and males travel alone to Thailand for holidays or teaching jobs.

Hi Marie, you should be relatively safe travelling alone. The Thais are generally very hospitable people. The ones maybe you need to be wary are the male foreigners.

The Thais are much like Filipinos. They readily welcome you. As in any usual safety advice all over the world, avoid the dark places. If you are in Bangkok, you will be ok on your own till maybe 11pm. After that is when the so-called party animals are out and you will never know what people will do when they had their drinks.

You can safely enjoy your stay. On your own.

I live here (white female) and I feel very, very safe.
Thai guys won't hassle you. They don't like us much (sexually, I mean---they like us as people).
Take "legit" looking taxis in good condition and insist on using the meter.
A lot of my single friends living here have never had any problems going places alone, and neither have I.
