When people use foul language (and I don't mean in an "everyday" sense, but rather directed toward me) I have a number of short, non-offensive retorts I like to use. What responses have you used that have made someone stop being so crass in their tracks?

Oh boy! You're asking the right person! I know loads of one-liners! This one's a killer! It's easier to memorize than you think!

"Stop propagating unicameral forms of idiosyncrasy which are definately occuring malevolently in that meritorious piece of clatterubial brain (you can change BRAIN for CEPHALIC MASS if you want more impact!)!"

Here's another one of my faves!

"Your use of profane language only demonstrates your lack of enough mental faculties to administrate proper language use." This one continues and is quite long so I won't consider it a one-liner!
I'm not going to give you all my one-liners but I thnik you're well served with these ones!

Have fun boggling the minds of those lesser mortals who haven't yet developed mentally enough to use proper vocabulary! Hahaha!

I really do sympathize but to put this in context, hundreds of people break the speed limit daily but not all get caught and fined. If a yahoo report officer spots yopur Q or A in the first ten minutes you get booked for speeding. After 15 minutes the Q is well down the list and the officer misses it so no speeding ticket. Dooesn't make you feel any better i guess but that's how it hangs.

I have told people "I do not appreciate that language please stop"
If it persists then mgt. hears about it.
Or I just bug the daylights out of them with no response by ignoring them and staying away from them then they get So P.O.'d you are ignoring them they'll leave you alone.

One other one liner is "Did your mother wash your mouth out with enough soap when you were little or did she not use enough?
"Sorry this is not worth my time because I have better things to do." is another

"You kiss your mother with that mouth?"
"Thank you. So are you."
"I love you too."
"You don't want me to tell you what you can do with your mouth, do you?"
Or just yawn in their face. The thing that irks them most is when they used up their entire vocabulary and still cant manage to get a response out of you.

I always tell people that cussing is an insult to their intelligence. When people cuss all the time, the words don't mean anything when their really mad.

My favorite is one my mom taught me:

If it's in a public place, just say, "Could you say that again? I didn't catch what you said." Either they'll slink off or, if you're lucky, they'll repeat it loudly enough for everyone to hear.

Feel better?
Do you eat with that mouth? (or kiss or pray, but I have learned that ..."kiss your mother with..."is a little too far, however
does your mother know you talk that way- seems to work.
I think MY personal favorite is
WHAT are you mfing about?

Great vocabulary: learn that at Harvard???

You make your mother proud with that vocabulary!

Are you proud of yourself?

You DO need to get a life!

Look him/her in the eye & say: God bless you & move on.

Didn't your mother teach you any better??????

Whatever they call you you could tell them that they are the superlative of that.

Or say 'Did someone just break wind?'
