Now she know's that's where you keep all the really yummy food. She will be visiting a lot now.
Get a squirt bottle and let her have it when she gets up there. For when you are out, there are static (electric) sheets you can buy that will deter her. Also, ones that make sounds cats hate.
Good luck.

The only way to keep them from doing so is to keep them out of the kitchen. All other methods will only work while you are present. When you are not there, they will jump on them. Cats have a natural instinct to climb and well, your counters are a play ground to them.

Totally normal. My cat will climb anything just to get off the floor. A friend told me to try wiping the counter with vinegar, but my cat likes the taste now, and will try an lick it off. She is also a huge fan of water. She tries to shower with me all the time. If you don't want her up there, just keep moving her down. Unfortunately this is one of the side effects of a cat, but even then it is well worth it.

Some cats are just like that. For me to keep my cat off the counter table, dinner table & coffee table, i keep a cane. So when he disobeys, one quick whip on his butt and now, no problems - even when i throw him up on the counter top, dinner table or coffee table, he quickly jumps off.
Cats can be disciplined, you just need to know how they tick!

my cat Jada also likes to jump on the counter every time I am in the kitchen. I think she is just curious what you are doing. Cats are just like children sometimes, they just want to be close to their mammas.LOL!

cats will naturally go to a high place it makes them feel more secure. it goes back to their past of ancestors living in the jungle many cats would sleep in trees to be protected from predators. And also she was smelling the food, sounds as if she may need more in her bowl lol.

She is probably looking for something to eat.. if you had left something out on a dish... and she found it by smelling it from the floor.. she jumped up to eat and now she thinks that each time she jumps up there.. she will find something to eat.

it might just be that your cat likes heights, just like most cats.you might want to just train her to not jump on the counters.make her think its a bad thing to do that.
