first, id take it back, b/c even if you do get used to the pain, its still not as good as a regular razor....AND it takes a little longer this way but a good way to reduce the pain and then redness etc.etc. is to FIRST take a long HOT shower and let the water run on your face for a while....your pores open up and the hairs soften..i would even suggest getting a small travel sized bottle of "Pantene ProV" hair conditioner and while your in the shower, put some on your facial hair and let it soak in for a minute or two(do this at the end). the reason for that is to make the hair a little less course, it may or may not help but just be sure to rinse your face well...SO by the time you are ready to shave, (and shave RIGHT when you get out of the shower) your pores are larger and your hair is slightly less coarse...one more suggestion is putting a wet washcloth into the microwave for loike 30 seconds...steaming hot, between every 2,3,or4 strokes of the razor....it WILL help...it will take some time, but it will help...and use the good shaving cream....the gel that turns to foam really coats the hair....i know how you feel, my fiance has the same problem and sometimes i do this whole process for him, just so it doesnt hurt so much...=) some people are just extra hairy-lol...good luck

An alternative approach is recommended for those with sensitive skin, and those prone to razor burn and ingrown hairs:
1. Wet face with warm water. Your goal before the blade touches your face is to soften the beard. Some prefer to place a hot towel to on their beard for 30 seconds prior to applying shaving lotion. Others shave right after a shower. Use whatever technique works best for you.
2. Massage gel or cream into your beard. Spending a minute or longer doing this will help soften your beard, and give you a more comfortable shave. A bristle brush is a great investment, since it helps lift hairs away from your skin, and also acts as an exfoliant for your skin. Warm the brush with water, and apply gel. Apply to face for a minute or two.
3. Shave in the direction that your hairs grow. Do not shave against the grain - this will hurt your face, and is more likely to give you ingrown hairs.
4. Rinse with tepid water that is not warm and not cold. Rinsing with water that is too cold will close the pores too soon, collapsing on freshly cut hairs. if it's too warm, you'll leave the pores open longer, allowing follicles to move around. tepid tepid tepid.
5. Apply a mild aftershave lotion that doesn't have much alcohol content in it.
Hope this helps you out =)

To get the closest shave use a three blade razor, and try different shaving lotions until you find the right on. One blade sucks! Two is okay, three is better and four is over-kill.
You should get use to the electric over time, but I found I can shave quicker without it so I don't use it anymore.
Some shaving lotions have a lubricant, shave after the shower. Shave downward first, then upward.

i recommend a razor with disposable heads and with at least 3-4 blades and an aloe strip on the edge shaving cream usually foams to much for the razor to go threw so i recomend a soft soap like dove or caress anything to soften the face and hair before u try to shave dry shaving like with an electric razor usually results in rash

It is true that an electric razor takes some getting used to bur I don't use one anymore. I got one of those non-fogging mirrors and I shave in the shower. The heat and moisture keeps your skin soft and it don't irritate so much.

Wet your face and instead of using shaving cream, put baby oil all over the areas where you shave. Not only does it protect your face and is pain free.... it makes your skin soooo soft. Trust me, I have very sensitive skin

You know it sounds like they are just telling you that so in a few weeks you won't be able to return it, you will be over the 30 day return policy.
If i were you i would call a dermatoligist, they should be able to give you some suggestions.
