That would be Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church. They picket the funerals of American soldiers because they feel that America has been corrupted by "the gay agenda", whatever that might be. The governor of PA pushed for a bill to stop these protests. So when the Amish girls were shot in his state, the Phelps crew decided that the tragedy was sent by God to punish the governor and his state, because he'd spoken out publicly against the Westboro Baptist Church. As it happened, they dropped the picket in exchange for free radio air time, which was donated by the nationally syndicated radio talk show host, Mike Gallagher.
Here are two of the many news articles that was printed about it at the time:

They weren't going to boycott, they were going to protest at the funerals. It's more political than anything.
Oct 3
Infamous hatepreacher Fred Phelps -- the Godhatesfags.com guy whose congregation of lunatics routinely pickets the funerals of gays, soldiers, miners, or pretty much anyone dead -- has threatened to picket today's funerals for four of the five Amish girls murdered in Pennsylvania on Monday. Phelps's daughter, Shirley Phelps-Roper, explained thusly:
"Those Amish people, everyone is sitting around talking about those poor little girls -- blah, blah, blah -- they brought the wrath upon themselves," Phelps-Roper said, adding that the Amish "don't serve God, they serve themselves."
Oct 4.
The controversial anti-homosexual Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kan., has canceled its plans to stage a protest at the funerals of the five Amish girls executed in their Pennsylvania school, a church official said Wednesday.
Shirley Phelps-Roper, the daughter of church's pastor, told FOXNews.com the group canceled the protests in exchange for an hour of radio time Thursday on syndicated talk-show host Mike Gallagher's radio program.
"We're not going to any of the Amish funerals — that's the agreement we're making — that we won't go to any of them," Phelps-Roper told FOXNews.com.
On Tuesday, the church posted a flyer touting the demonstrations in response to the attendance of Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, who has spoken out against the church publicly. Both Amish and non-Amish residents of Lancaster County — where the shooting took place — have vowed to not allow any protesters anywhere near the funeral services; Rendell called the church members "insane."

because of the fact unluckily the liberty of speech ingredient applies to them as stable although in my opinion i opt for they could make it as approved for the families to flow and beat the crap out of the Westboro persons. Luckly there are agencies who oppose the Westboro church and wood between the funerals and the psychos and act as a cushion of types. can not remember the names of the agencies although I know a number of them are bikers. i'm grateful for human beings like them :)

They were members of Fred Phelps' crazy family. They believe that if anything bad happens to someone, it's because God hates them. Hurricane Katrina? Gods hates New Orleans for being "sinfull." Soldier dies in Iraq? God hates him/her for fighting for a country that allows homosexuality. Little Amish girl shot? Got hates her for being Amish and not a "true" Christian.
They are awful people.

Man, they were some real nutcases. They actually had the nerve to say that those poor innocent children deserved to be molested and then shot in the head. Don't know why they call themselves Christian. There's nothing Christ-like about their evil agenda. Wolves in sheep's clothing, obviously.

I don't know but the Amish were showing more concern for the soul of the killer than they were for the children. They all seemed pretty detached, and talked as if was nothing to worry about.
