No seems to really have answered your question. It's not a matter of what a person SHOULD do, it's a matter of which is easier, right?

It is most likely easier for a Mexican to adapt to American culture because there really is no "American" culture. It is Western culture, created by the many many immigrants who came to this country. For an American to adapt to Mexican culture, one would have to get used to a lot of very specific cultural ideals that might not be present in the states.

It shouldn't matter which is easier. If the Mexicans are choosing to come to America they should be willing to learn English and adapt to American culture. They do not need to give up their own culture in order to do so. I would make the same argument for an American going to Mexico.

Mexicans are not adapting to American culture. We are adapting to theirs. There are thousands of Mexicans that flat out refuse to learn English and why should they? They don't have to.

Every time you call a company it's 1 for English and 2 for Spanish - we have been assimilated

Look on some containers now they are in English and Spanish - resistance is futile.

Schools are now requiring kids to learn Spanish. No choice in some cases.

How come we don't have 3 for Chinese, 4 for French, 5 for Korean?

It is not easy to adapt to that "Circus Music" they play, let alone anything else.

I'd like to deport them just so I didn't have to listen to that whining opera and the Mexican Hat Dance song ever again! Or our National Anthem sung in Spanish!

Mexicans have proved they do not want to adapt to American culture!
They hate Americans and say so!

I'm a white Mexican-American of French, Spanish, Navajo and Mexican decent. I was born and raised in the USA but, I will say this... I grew up Mexican culture all the way and I'm perfectly fine. I would say, it could be difficult for either group to adapt.

Why the word adapt? I as an American don't have to adapt to any other culture .I speak several languages, including Spanish.I have my own culture why do I, a legal American, need to adapt to any thing.I enjoy different cultures and find them interesting but I do not have to adapt to any foreign culture. It is the immigrant both legal and illegal that need to adapt to this country not the other way around.

Well if the Mexican is coming to America, They must adapt to our way of life.
If an American is going to Mexico, They also must adapt to that way of life.

Neither. Americans adapting to Mexican culture in Mexico would be good, and vice versa. Americans adapting to Mexican culture in America is immoral, and vice versa.
