I'll give you my answer and some may not like what I have to say either. I am a solitary wiccan and have been for over 20 years. I am proud of my belief system as it comforts me- it transforms all that is spiritual; it is a deeply personal comfort zone. I have studied, written, performed numerous readings... and as far as educating those who don't understand what Wicca is all about, it's called choice and for the record, it is not a religion. It is a lifestyle... a change... an alternative to explore who you are and how you relate to everything around you. Not to be confused with dark magic, wicca embraces what we already know that is true, the elements. Unfortunately, the lure of the dark is dangerous- lures the naive into self-destruction. It is the highest form of spirituality, regarding The Goddess Faith and I'm not afraid to tell you that. I have some wonderful Samhain formulas if you're interested as a solitary and I thank you for posing this courageous question. Email me at sekhmets.prodigy@gmail.com if you are genuinely interested. Blessings.

I'm in AL, where are you?

I'm pretty much open here on Yahoo! Answers, but in my real, off-line life I'm way back in the back of the broomcloset with the dust bunnies. I live in a tiny town that would not like the fact that I am who I am. Very few people know (my husband, brother and SIL) know around here. I would love to converse with another Wiccan. If you want you can e-mail me. You can reach me through my info page!

IN the beginning, christianity was simply called "the way".
Jesus is the only way to salvation. Hell is real but so is heaven. Jesus himself said not only is the gate narrow, but so is the road that leads to salvation. Many will travel the wide road to destruction. Because I am a Christian, and I hold the knowledge of life and death for your spirit, I would be the most selfish person on earth if I didn't share that hope with the lost. I pray for Jesus to crash into your life and blow all your stop-signs. Yes, He is alive and wants to drive a 1977 Ford LTD right into the heart of your false religion.

James 1:27
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Amen

Pagan baby! I have strayed from the path, but lately have been transforming to follow my Pagan path again. Wiccan...yes. I see myself in more the Dianic tradition, and I tend to be more of a solitaire than work with a coven. But I am still striving to my true pagan self. Blessed be.

I'm not Wiccan. I'm a Hindu. I'm not ashamed of my religion and I do not hide it.

Hope you find some folks in your area.

Have you tried witchvox....that website has links to Wiccan and Pagan groups throughout the US.

I have never practiced a mainstream religion nor have I ever been afraid to admit that. I am a polytheist and I follow a Celtic path.

Perhaps these sites will help you find other wiccans:

I work with a lot people who are not of Christian religion and they aren't afraid to admit it. Our workforce is made up of Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Jews (and one really cranky athiest).

(and I'm Catholic also and I've *never* been told I'm not a Christian.)
