The us invaded iraq on the pretense that they had weapons of mass destruction despite the fact that the world lacked the proof that they did and the only thing the us had to go on was it's own sales receipts. Now north korea have shown trhat they have wmd's why aren't the us and her good allies invading?

Because it's NOT about a "war on terror" or "fighting for freedoms". It's REALLY all about THIS!...

I'm so sick of everyone posting here who has very limited or no idea about international politics. There are a few who got it right though; the risks from invaiding N. Korea just outweighs the benefits. They have a million soldiers as opposed to 29 000 US troops in S. Korea. The US just can't afford a confrontation with such a large military force. North Korea's not exactly the richest country either. Most citizens are poor and close to starvation. Their main access to much needed oil and other resources is through China, whom the US has better political ties with. Overall, economic sanctions are just simpler, and more effective, than a full-scale military invasion.

we have fought korea before it ended in 1953.Korea is only wanting attention and their getting it. Yes America can fight korea and china. We have fought a two front war in ww2 Germany and Japan. Korea hasnt given the usa a good enough reason yet to declare war. Their testing the president to see how far they can go. America must be on the look out not only for Korea but Iraq.
we know Korea has weapons but what about Iraq?

My cynical answer is that they don't have oil. My other answer is that we have to be more careful about how we handle North Korea because they are much more powerful than Iraq and there allies are also more powerful than Iraq's allies. Messing with North Korea we have a much greater chance of opening the draft, losing thousands of troops, getting into a nuclear war, and although it is unlikely we also run the risk of losing. We knew starting off that we would easily win against Iraq.

First, what "good" allies do we have left in the world? Secondly, Bush had to pull troops out of Afganistan before we could win that war. Thirdly, we are losing the war in Iraq, and our military is in no position to take on another war with anyone, let alone North Korea.

Well...well....well!. The USA and his "Allies" eventually will use his own, and power full WMD to invade NK. The USA doesn't like anyone to have WMD, so they can control the World!!.

Today the USA, and his clones have completely destroyed IRAQ, have kill innocents women, children , and the elderly, and now you want the USA to do the same with NK?. Give peace a brake mate!!/

"I don`t think you understand how Bush works. If North Korea is the threat Bush will invade Iran. That will show those N. Korean bastards."

Iran is still the number 1 threat. There was more to it than just Iraq having WMDs.

We can't invade North Korea.

For one thing, China would not react well to it and we are not powerful enough to fight China in their own neighborhood.

Secondly, North Korea has a 1,000,000 man army and about 7,000,000 reservists - and they are well trained.

The whole world, except for Bush-bots, knows this. Bush tough talk just makes us look stupid in addition to weak.

what I really want to know is why we aren't invading Japan for making all those crappy video games, and why we aren't invading Columbia to take control of the cocaine industry, and why we aren't invading Britain so we can force those ugly people to fix their teeth. Now THOSE are some good reasons for invading another country!! Who cares about WMDs? Those are so passe now, lots of countries have them.

The USA has a history of not starting wars but rather finishing them. You can't be the World Police and start a war, can you.
