Everything is flawed, history is written in the perspective of the one who is writing the book. No one has the same perspective or understanding of any one event so there is no complete historical accuracy, there is only that which is agreed upon to be true by the mass consciousness.

The difference between the bible and history books is that history books are nothing but recorded happenings of the past. The bible however, is recorded happenings of the past, as well as a book of morals we ought to have. Since man wrote the bible, then it's only the morals these men think are the right ones that we ought to be following. And I'm fine with my own morals, I don't need anyone else's.

The books of the Bible are God-breathed.
2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
2 Timothy 3:15-17 (in Context) 2 Timothy 3 (Whole Chapter)
As far as our school history books go -- they often reflect the popular concept of knowledge at the point in time they were approved. As time goes on and laws are passed, the texts are revised to reflect a whole different attitude about something that happened or more updated texts are bought. Of course new information that is discovered out in the world often puts a new spin on events that happened long ago.

Of course they are, few people would say they aren't, it's not possible to have all history exact word for word. It is a basic history of what we know has happened. Ask Native American folks, many I'm sure (as I have heard) could tell you that there is a lot that is wrong in the portion of those books that covers American history associated with their ancestors. People believed what they wanted history to be in regard to them. People world over have often made up elaborate details in many cultures in regard to history and beliefs, bible included.

Actually, many history books ARE imaginary compilations.
Have you read a modern history book lately? It's amazing how much history has changed. Facts literally undo themselves. It's like magic!
I'm a Christian. But to be fair, if the bible was written by man, then it IS an imaginary compilation. What sets the bible apart is that it's content, while penned by people, is the original intellectual property of the Almighty God.

absolutely history books are often political and cultural propaganda books full of lies and bend truths as well as inventions and omissions
and most of history has never been recorded
to get any idea of what has been going on you must read all history books ,religious documents, ancient scripts ever written
and you will be so full of contradictions and lies that things will be murkier than ever ,
it is a no win situation if you really want to know the truth of what has ever happened ,Archeology maybe the nearest to the truth but it is full of gaps or rather is is only fragments of the past.
the bible is one of the least trustworthy documents because it is a tool to enslave and manipulate people as well as being full of keys for mind control
there are other more truth full records
such as Egyptian hieroglyphics ,bnabylonian and Semurian text or ancient Indian texts
check AnunakiPDF,
the emerald tablets of thoth
and a colation of ideas and philosifies from an agnostic point of view
the biggest secret by David Icke ,on www.infowars.,and you may get some idea of how distorted accepted history could be .
we have been living in a sea of lies with a carefully produced restricted mentality full of placed sensors under the control of descendents of Ancient invaders ,who probably created us in the first place ,to be slaves for them
of the 11 dimensions that exist .we can see only 3 % of 3 of them
killer whales see more than we do
we are practically blind in our own world.
as well as misinformed.

You should have found out in grade school that we know the history books aren't made up because we have tons of evidence from multiple independent sources as well as physical artifacts that validate them. We also recognize that the record isn't perfect and that they are written from particular perspectives. No one who was awake in their history class would say that those books are perfect.

So speaks the truth of entropy. But with God, he is the primary source and the primary giver of truth. For that which is first, is what we set as reference and it is that which proves entropy. The bible appears to have contradictions, but it is proof of God's truth evolving and morphing into the area of perception available to the ones receiving, since we all know that Moses did not have
the same problems as were those in the Babylonian Captivity.
Now, onto secondary causes, the causes of man. Man is not primary, nor is he the embodiment of truth. We each have individuality and that uniqueness is what gives us an attributed commentary to whatever happens. History books are works of man inspired by man, not as the bible, which is inspired by God. But it is good to question nonetheless, but the answer you seek is already your predetermined theorem.

History is constantly being updated. But, they found that the bible, besides the removal of a few books, has remained essentially the same...barring word definitions that are still argued and phrasing, grammer of the times.

Because history books contain realistic, believable events - unlike the unrealistic and non-sensical bible events such as: walking on water, the parting of a large body of water, talking serpents and donkeys, a human being suddenly turning into a pillar of salt, flying horsemen, etc., etc.
