Don't hate that cat. The cat just probably thinks you need a friend and is trying to be your friend. Black cats are very intelligent and lovable. When he purrs it's because he is happy to see you and wants you to give him attention. Please do not hate that cat or act cruel to the cat. If you think the cat is trying to talk to you, then he probably is. The cat only wants your attention to be your friend. Maybe the cat wants help and is trying to ask you for food or water.

Please do not hurt that cat, cats are very intelligent and very sweet loving souls. Everyone that tells you to kick the cat or hurt it on this board is sick and they need help because they are cruel to animals.

The cat only wants to be your friend hun. Try going up to the window and tapping your hand on it.

Cats purr when they are happy--have you seen this cat for there is a medium sized grey bird that sounds just like a cat/sounds like a kitten crying-the sound is so real that have even gone looking for it but the bird is called the Cat Bird. There is no need to be scated of cats-not one domesticated cat has ever attacked and eaten a human being for a human much much larger than a mouse. It is all made up/folk tales about black cats no different from other cats except black. Strange though that it only comes at night-why not during the day??????

"Baby crying in the wind"? That doesn't sound like purring to me. It sounds like a male singing for a mate. There must be the smell of a female in heat somewhere around your house.

Cat's purr when they are happy or scared...I highly doubt that cat is purring to you if you are so mean to it. Don't throw things at it or hurt it or it will come back and haunt you!!!
Are you on drugs?

By the way, if you hurt it you could go to jail! Just talk to your neighbors to see who it belongs to.

Go to the pet store. There is a product that you can spray to detract cats from an area. It only costs a few bucks and will give you a good nite sleep and peace of mind.
Please do not hurt the kitty.

Please don't listen to cat haters giving their advise. The cat may be hungry, thirsty, scared or lost. They can be wonderful pets if treated lovingly. Always be kind to pets. If it has a collar, call the owner or a Humane Society. We should never hate an animal. As for being black........thats just genetics and no animal or person has control over that. I've seen some beautiful black or black and white cats. It's disgusting to see answers to be mean to any animal. I wouldn't give their answer any consideration if you are a good person.

There is a disease for cat-haters, known as "AILUROPHOBIA":
* An abnormal and persistent fear of cats which produces an undue anxiety reaction even though sufferers realize their fear is Irrational.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Ailurophobes, as a rule, do no harm to cats, although they are often quite willing to have others put them out of the way.
* Sir Walter Scott originally disliked cats; in his latter days he admitted: “The greatest advance of age which I have yet found is liking a cat, an animal which I use to detest".
* Animal welfare organizations note that very few abandoned Cats or Kittens, are able to survive, most being killed by vehicles, or succumbing to starvation, predators, exposure, and/or disease.
* Animals of all kinds respond to loving care and attention. It can indeed be a "Joy" to see them interact with caring humans who have tamed them.
* CONCLUSION: Cats are Athletic, Fun, Soft, Cuddly, Loving, and much more Intelligent than most people give them credit for. With their keen sense of "Smell, Hearing and Vision", Cats will locate the smallest of the smallest, which is very appreciated by their owners. Some cats are so sensitive, they will forewarn you of an intruder, while the intruder is still outside of your home, this type of cat is known as "The Watch Cat", being associated with a dog owner having a Watch Dog.

If the window is open so the cat is just outside a screen, get a spray bottle and spray the cat through the screen every time it shows up at your window. Eventually the cat will get the idea that it isn't a good idea to jump up there.

I don't care for people who let their cats out at night or the cats themselves. I've had several pee on my property and one under my house. It will be very difficult to get rid of them. Notify the owner or get a trap from the local pound. Also check with your local city regulations on pets.

most cats purr because they are content
