I'm a college student and think about this everyday. I wonder, "what else can I do" and "what can everyone else do". I am a member/sponsor of peta and my local shelter.

What would you do if you were fundraising for something you really love?

*Here is an example: when I worked in retail I had a sweet discount and bought things to resell on ebay (2nd hand tools etc). I raised over 2k until I became greedy and quit my job due to wanting more time for partying.

Its very commndable what you are doing and I have been a member of PETA for many years. I've done yard sales/garage sales. had Walk for the animals- charged $20. registration fee and a big fundraiser was going to Pesmart and talking to the manager and selling baked goods outside of the store--that was before I found they sell glue traps(Horrible) Since you like to party have a Prty For the Animals and have a cover charge so much for Single and so much for Couple and then at the Party you can still have a Donation Jar---early on you can then (early on if you;'ll have alcohol) your talk on the purpose of this party you can also ask for ideas to make more money to be put into Idea Box Good Luck

I own a grooming parlour. I host a Pet Parade and costume contest every year, entry fee is 10.00 and the entire amount goes to the animal shelter, so far this year I have 75 entrants, and the parade is 2 weeks away. I also give 10% of my proceeds to the shelter and groom all shelter pets for free so they can find a home. During the summer I participated in a local festival and got other animal businesses involved and sold raffle tickets for lots of prizes. My sons school also has a week where the kids collect lunch money and extra change to help out the shelter pets.

Keep doing what you can every little bit saves lives!

How about a bake sale? You could team up with the local pet shelter and go to a pet store; take some homeless animals with you to get adopted & raise awareness, and make both treats for humans and for pets. That'll raise a few bucks. :)

And I'd rather help homeless animals than homeless people- by and large they are more appreciative.

Try to have tables up for people to donate at a public area on busy days. Also, try to put up flyers ahead of time to get people more interested in your cause. Ask if you could bring some of the friendly dogs from your shelter for the fundraiser. First, talk to the shelter, they might be able to help you too.

Fake, there are any number of things you can do to raise money for you cause. If you have some friends that can help you, try having a bake sale, or a yard/garage sale. You might try contacting your local pet supply store and ask if you might sell your goods in their facility. You can also go door to door and sell baked goods or any number of things. Check the notification boards at pet stores and trying getting other people interested in your cause.Good Luck, you have a good heart.

Oh! I have an idea. How bout bring all the shelter dogs and have a Dog Carnival or something.

What I mean is... bring all the dogs somewhere fun like the park and make a sign saying... COME HERE! And coming in is free but put ALOT of donation boxes. People can adopt dogs too! No carnival haha.

I've been trying to figure something out as well because I want to start a rescue and also foster dogs but don't have the extra funding. I've been thinking of setting up something on Paypal and putting a donate link on my website. Haven't tried it yet but the idea may be a good one.
