I wouldn't credit cops with "catching more" sexual criminals, but I credit the agencies and organizations that provide support to the victims, and help them come forward and managing life afterwards.

I think the decrease in morality in our society and the wider acceptance of peverted lifestyles has created a more hypersexual generation of people. Now, I know that sexual crimes like rape are not about sex but power yet other sexual crimes like child molestation can come from an overexposure to sex since childhood wether through media or from the child being molested him or herself. I know while growing up there were children who would bring porn to school and often they would expose themselves to other kids and even would molest other children in a way that was way more than just normal sexual experimentation. The more we axcept the theory that we are just animals and that any sexual behavior is aceptable the worse it will get. Behavior that once took place behind closed doors is now widely accepted and children anre being exposed to it even when parents don't wish to allow that. The other day I was waitching a day time talk show on network tv when there came on a comercial for a popular tv show in which they used a highly sexual joke which my 5 year old understood (it was something about laying naked with whipped cream waiting for a woman!)!!! THIS WAS DAY TIME!! Makes me sick!

Its a shame to say, but I think you might be right...
Sexual predation also seems to be a really hot topic right now, its all over TV... Its kind of sick to me that people want to see so much of this in the media, also on television specials and whatnot... but at the same time maybe its helping people who were so ashamed come forward and others to feel that they arent alone.
Wich makes me feel sad because it seems like there are SO MANY people who have been sexually abused...
...sometimes I wonder if a lot of the cases are like "alien abduction" experiences that psycologists and hynothereapists say they can unlock. But then the fact would still remain that so many cases were genuine that its quite shocking.

Yes there are lot of rapist out there. Some will kill, and others let you go. The city I live in it does not matter if it is daylight or dark.
Elevators. Make sure you are not alone with a would be predator. The emergency stop is right there. We even have cops in out hospital emergency rooms. I have heard that of all the cases that the female population that over half will not report the rape; mainly out of fear. Where my daughter works at the hospital they have escorts to the parking lot by armed security guards.

I believe our society has taken a turn for the worst. Human life and human rights, in addition to women's rights and respect for others has fallen by the wayside. We live in a society where people do what they want without any regard for others. Yes, we have advances in technology, but our media and the internet have made everything and anything available to all. People will act on their impulses, this will cause an increase in crime.

That and we have better means to report/collect investigative data on that stuff--plus women are more empowered by society to come forward and admit that they have been sexually assaulted--which they hardly did in the past.

yes, i agree. Other factors would be population growth, and breakdown of morals, values, and traditional families (or families with time to instill and pass down morals and values). Still other factors, violent pornagraphy...and access to it, plus higher drug use. Many factors involved.
