Well most likely the bride is going to pick out your suite for you. So she will let you know what you will be wearing. As far as the party is concerned you should get together with the rest of the groomsmen and put together a game plan.

The Best Man does however have other responsibilities:

*Responsibile for organizing ushers' activities.

* Organizes bachelor party for groom.

*Drives groom to the ceremony site and sees that he is properly dressed before the wedding.

* Brings wedding license to the wedding.

*Pays the clergyman, musicians, photographer, and any other service providers the day of the wedding. (Most likely the bride and groom will give you labeled envelopes)

*Holds the brides ring for the groom, if no ring bearer, until needed by officiant.

*Witnesses the signing of the marriage license.

*Drives newley weds to reception if there is no hired driver.

* Offers first toast/speech usually before dinner.

* Keeps groom on schedule.

* Dances with maid of honor during the bridal party dance.

* Oversees return of tuxedo rentals for groom and ushers, on times and in good condition.

Good Luck it is a huge role in a wedding and a lot of responsibility. :)

The best man/groomsmen should wear at least the same tie/cummerbund as the groom. Those should match the colors that the bridesmaids are wearing. The color of the rest of the suit does not have to be the same color as the grooms.

As for a bachelor party, tailor it to the grooms likes/dislikes( if he's into football, get tickets to a game, etc) But don't forget to make sure the bride won't get pissed off at you. After all, you don't want to have your party raided by the bride(its happened before) and have her call the wedding off when she sees her husband to be dancing with a stripper.

Some guys go to sporting events like an NBA or NFL game game. Some guys have a night out with a party bus that will pick everyone up and no body has to drive. They'll go to bars, strip clubs etc. Also the groomsmen will not allow the groom to pay for admission to the bars and his drinks.

As for the suits/tux the groom will tell you where you will get your tux. They should have the colors for the ties and vest on record.

what you wear is up to the groom, NOT you.. so ask him.... and as for a party, get in- put from the other guys in the wedding party, or his friends, and get them to help you put it together... but remember, tradition says that the father of the groom and bride are invited, so beware of your activities !!!! maybe, just a roast to the groom is in order, depending on the situation... you could have everyone, tell stories of the groom to be, or such..... God bless

My best man was the same in suit style.

the best man gets the crew together, finding out the names and numbers of his friends so you can organise the night in advance.

strip clubs etc... whatever the groom enjoys. nothing too sleazy.

keep it quiet, like its just a night out, and surprise him with all of his mates and the best clubs. and he doesnt pay for entry or drinks all night.
the best man ensures he himself isnt drunk as he needs to look after the groom, and ensure he makes it home in one piece by dropping him off or riding home in the taxi with him. you are his bodyguard. thats how we do it. and all goes well.

forget the shaved head, handcuff crap. thats for idiots. it has to be classy.
