I say "I don't think I am mentally ill, I think I am a political prisoner, and someone makes those voices just to make me unable to live the way I want to live", and people say:
"You have the classic symptoms of schizophrenia, take your meds" ???? It seems like if you have the label of being schizophrenic noone will believe anything? You just have that stamp on "mentally ill" and all you say are "symptoms"???

"if you don't take them you will not recover ever?" where do you have that from? don't you know that those meds don't heal, they just tranquilize you so much that you don't have symptoms anymore? there ARE people that recover, but noone knows why.

The nature of schizophrenia is that it robs you of a realistic view of normalcy. What makes perfect sense to you can seem like "crazy talk" to everybody else.

Unfortunately, due to the condition, it is hard for everybody else to trust anything you say. Interresingly, this fact has made a lot of fiction writers very rich. The crazy person nobody trusts is the only one who knows the real truth. Tell me that's not drama!

If you are hearing voices that aren't there, you are mentally ill. Period, end of story. In that case you need to be on medication. Sorry, there's not bush to beat around here.

That is not the case. The things you described really ARE symptoms. You need those meds, and if you don't take them, you will NOT recover, ever. Please don't stop taking them, it will get better eventually.
