That's true - if you wear the tux again you look stylish, but if you wear the dress again, you just look crazy.

I'm with you on this one. At least you can get use out of a tux again. The dress just costs a whole lot of money, takes up a lot of room and requires that you keep up with it so that it stays in great condition so that you can maybe pass it on to your daughter, if you have one. And even if you have a daughter, there is no guarantee that she will even want to wear the dress. It is a better investment to save the money on the dress, rent one or get a less expensive one, and put the money that you would have spent on the dress toward something more worthwhile or just invest it so maybe you can buy a house earlier, or save for retirement.

Nah, no girls should feel like that. Yep, just rent wedding gowns and maybe buy tux. Girls may feel an attachment to wedding gowns cuz they wear it on a very special day (probably once in a lifetime). Sell it for money would make more sense to me, unless you're not in need of it.

Personally I would not fancy hiring a dress, because you never know who has worn it before, and done what in it, and also I doubt they would get one to fit me as I am the size of an 11 year old child (very short). There is nothing wrong with selling your dress, I don't intend to wear a wedding dress anyway, sometimes I get this feeling that they look just a tad ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I have never seen an ugly bride, they all look amazing, but just for me I think I would look like one of those knitted ladies that old people put over their toilet rolls. I am thinking of wearing a silk trouser suit, tailored for me, lovely bootleg cut trousers and a long line fitted jacket. Then I would be able to wear it again sometime.

I think it's all up to personal preference really. Some people are sentimental, and need to keep something like a wedding dress. Also, it can sometimes be traditional for a mother to pass the wedding gown to her daughter when she gets married.
Like I said: Personal preference.

Well, not the next day - give it a few months! Mine has been hanging in the closet for over 17 years, for no good reason! More women are renting wedding gowns - a great idea!

Sell it!! I know it has the sentimental value to it but that's what pictures are for!! You will never wear it again, I can promise you that. Even if, God forbid, you were to get remarried down the road would you really want to wear the same dress again? And as for saving it for your kids, by the time they are ready to get married the dress will be outta style. I spent $1000 on my dress, wore it for a day and it is still at the dry cleaners waiting to be picked up, for a small fee of $200. I was married 2 years ago!! Hope this helps :)

It's not wrong. There have actually started to be some companies that do rent bridal gowns. You just have to look a little harder for them. As far as costs, the retailers and manufacturers know that we will pay for the perfect wedding dress, so they markup prices accordingly.

Sure you can sell it on ebay! It is your wedding dress, you can do what you want with it! Then you can take that money and put it towards something like your house, or groceries or something. You don't have to keep the dress what are you going to do with it? Let it sit there forever?

A rented wedding dress is kinda cheesy. Let her buy the one she wants. SHe will never wear it again, and if she wants (or needs to) recoup her money spent, ebay makes some sense.
It is kinda sad if she has to sell it but really doesn't want to, but can;t afford not to.
What is appropriate for one person may not be for another. Mellow out.

I agree, it's a waste of money to spend all that money on a dress, not to mention really big weddings. The whole point of getting married is to spend to rest of your life with the man you love, not a big fashion show.
