It's true. Fruits contain a type of phylemaine, which causes a chemical reaction in your stomach. Eating vegetables produces a stronger amount. Supposedly, if you eat them teogether, a new chemical substance will form and slowly eat away at the wall of a tissue. Once the tissue is completely eaten away, it is easy to get infected and bacteria may enter your body, causing you to get ill.

I am not sure I agree with that...I eat fruits and veggies together all the time in salad (tomatoes, oranges, grapes etc) and don't get ill.... maybe what you heard is referring to a CERTAIN fruit and vegetable together?

I have never heard of this. I know that it is good to eat fruit before a meal because it helps you digest your food better. Then with your meal you can have a veggie.

When I was in first grade a girl told me that her grandma ate fish and drank milk in the same meal and died. I believe that she died but I don't think it was because of mixing fish and milk.
The fruit and veggie thing is just as silly.

no truth at all - mandarin orange salad includes oranges with lettuce, carrots etc.
Many types of chicken salad include grapes, onions and celery.
Vegetables and fruits are all just plant matter.
