This is the "bo" tree. The tree that Gautama sat under when he became enlightened (the Buddha). So it has a huge symbolic significance for Buddhists. It doesnt have any medicinal properties that I ever heard of.

you mean Ficus religiosa ... it is a type of fig (but I don't think the figs are particularly edible), family Moraceae (mulberry family)
