They grow with many in a pod, and the material the pod is composed of is very toxic. The nuts are somewhat toxic if not roasted.

cashew nuts are like a seed of a fruit found outside of it. the fruit is colored yellow....the reason why its not found in a shell, coz the nuts are toasted then shelled before selling. experts say that when you toast a cashew, when chickens inhaled the smoke...the die!

cashews are more or less hand picked .unlike peanuts that grow in bunches you only get one cashew per bloom.thats also why they are higher priced

because poor countries always deshell them to try and make more profit before they export them
