Maybe some people are so bored with themselves that they turn to hurling insults at others for their entertainment. On the other hand, there are those who entertain themselves by making a big display of being offended. Those who hurl insults for the purposes of entertaining themselves are a perfect match for those who entertain themselves in making a big display of being offended. So remember that hurling insults helps meet the needs of those who entertain themselves by making a big display of being offended.

These days I think it has a lot to do with politics. It's become a divisive issue for many people. For instance I am very disturbed by those who seek to legislate their religious tenets into my life. Then you have those who believe that this is a "Christian" country and they have a right to do that. It makes for some very irate answers to probing questions from both sides. Think back to the 2004 election. Religious issues were huge during the election, affecting votes regarding same-sex marriage, abortion and stem cell research. Religion and our country's laws have become key issues in this country in the last few years. Also, there's no getting around it, when people clash over religion and politics there are very strong emotions and opinions involved and things can get very heated.

Unfortunately, some religious people believe that wearing their faith on their sleeve, and cramming it down people's throats will save the world.
While athiests belittle because they feel little.
It's the same reason that bullies beat other children up, because they are beat upon at home.
So an atheist has nothing to believe in, it's not their problem, but maybe they are aggressive because of the aggressive religious fanatics that tell Christians to mass produce because we need to rule the world. Or we need to bomb abortion clinics.
There are some athiests that keep their mouths shut, just as there are some Christians that know the best way to spread faith, is to live it.

Yes, this is the natural way with immature, sick and prejudicious minds like me!
They think they have the right to throw bad words at any people as they wish. And they may think that such action will not affect their lives. They may continue like that until the day when....they unreasonably receive insults or something worse than insults like me. And they may repent like me!
What I want to add is that we need divine Teachers to teach us how to repent. Otherwise, even our repentance will not bring us any good result, and we may turn back to our old diseases.

I wouldn't like to insult you, but you are welcome to our side! We havenew books, little egotist genes, the kewlest people is here e pur se muove! Everything moves here! There is no mistake too little to be corrected, and we always discuss togeter our decisions. I think the best part of having a morality independently of knowing who created everything is that we are no longer believing the same thing than 2000 years ago!

Because many people are mean spirited and have nothing better to do. There are many, however, who are tolerant of other religions. Personally I'm a live and let live person and truly believe there are many roads to salvation including that of the atheist. Anyway, who are we to make judgments on what someone believes or doesn't believe.

Yours is a sincere question to ask. Many people, atheists and Christians alike, don't possess the tolerance and understanding for others as they should.
Each of us has the innate gift of free agency to believe as we wish and choose whatever path we wish to follow. Brigham Young once said, "Let them worship the yellow dog down the street so long as no harm befalls his neighbor."

Yes, by now I am sure someone has insulted you too. I wish people could live and let live and protect each others rights to do just that and not attack each other for their individual beliefs. Americans are supposed to protect each others rights and not let anyone do harm to anyone else for their choice of religious belief.
Unfortunately, there will always be those who feel they are better then everyone else. There is a name for it and I hate it, it is bigotry.

because of the fact of insecurity and not beig sure the non believers critisize because in the back of thier mind there is this voice that makes them think they may be wrong. and because of that fact they may gain hostilaty because there are more facts supporting the existance of god than the non existance of him. so they grow hostile because there evidence dwindles and give them cause to doubt.
